Do old replays still work with latest build?

I just tried to play a replay from mid 2013 and i have the correct mod file (a "Multi Cmp" file to be exact), tracks and cars for it installed but when i go to click "Play Replay"...a window pops up telling me "Mod is not currently installed". Yet i'm certain it is installed as it's shown as installed by the rf2 content manager. I'm also sure the files are not corrupt because there are two hosts sites for the same file and i tried both to make sure it's not a possible file error fault, etc.

anyone any idea?

Do you have the .rfmod installed? Recent builds don't need it, but that was a change in one of the builds... last year at the earliest I think... so need the rfmod as well as the content. At least.

*In case I've explained that in a confusing way - the "watch a replay without the rfmod" thing needs the replay to be saved in one of the more recent builds, as well as viewing it on a recent build obviously. Replays saved previously to that need the .rfmod.

**One more edit... found it, Build 494 (February 26, 2014): For newly created replays, you can now play them even if the (virtual) mod is uninstalled, as long as the individual track and vehicle components are still installed.

Ok, i see that i only have the newest version of the ISI megane mod installed whilst the replay in question was recorded a few months prior to this versions release, so it looks like you're bang on the money.

Just trying to find a download link for the ISI megane mod before version 1.44 now.

I just realised it might not even be that one but the 1.1 version called "ISI 1032-v10-v11-Renault Megane Trophy.rfmod".

 

Nevermind...finally found the links to both (the 1.1 version being an update for 1.0 i believe).

 

Ok, the 1.0 file installed fine but the 1.1 update file won't. Content manager saying "Failed / Renault Megane Trophy v1.1" and then in red underneath "TCP Error / Renault Megane Trophy 1.1".

I tried to see if 1.0 alone let the replay file work but it didn't. Still says "Mod is not currently installed" when i try to play the replay.

Feel like doing an O'Reilly at this point, lol.

After installing 1.0, run Bin32\ModMgr.exe and Update the 1.0. I don't think the launcher handles updates (ISI aren't doing updates anymore).

 

Good idea and good point. I tried it but the update doesn't even show up in ModMgr.exe which makes me think the ability to see and/or apply updates to mods has been completely removed from rf2 now.
