Howdy, I run the F3's@???=Fun! The original server... as well as the commercial one that is not the original... I would love to run this mod on a commercial server. However, two companies Hostile Contact and Gamer Hosting can't get the mod installed. This is the mod: http://isiforums.net/f/showthread.php/4739-1960s-World-Class-Racing-All-Tracks-vMod Is there going to be a better way to install mods like this one onto a commercial server? And I'll ask the question here, because neither company seems to want to answer it. How come they don't just let you access the GUI of the game? I'm extremely frustrated... I've spent no fewer than 100 hours of my time to get one of these commercial servers doing what I want them to do. It took me less than an hour to get "F3's@???=Fun! The Original" up and running on my home server. IsI, please help me! One server I'm paying for, Gamer Hosting is loaning me a server for one week to see if I/they can get this mod to work on it. Any help from anyone would be greatly appreciated. Bryan

Or you do know that NRT servers do not I repeat do not allow root access to the game at this time Due to the Bugs in it you will have to go in to their TS3 support and ask Dave to install it for you I also rented a server from them But not allowing me root access was the reason I left them. They are a great bunch of guys and they will try anything for you(installing mods that is). One of the Best game hosts I ever went with Now reasons that this mod will not work on a dedicated server is more than likely something wrong with a file Bad Down Load or Wrong Files version or It will not run and a dedicated server when F1Eleite 1st released their All car all tracks that Did not run on a dedicated server only on a Hosted machine If you have paid for NRT Server just ask Dave he will fix it
thats strange as i was using FTP to upload mabe 10 different versions of the ISI BMW when we were testing it you just need to work out how you have to make a new file structure its easy to do .
Ok Race Fans... NRT stepped up to the plate and found a way to get this mod installed on my dedicated server... I won't get into the reasons nobody else could. My personal server "F3s@???=Fun!" has been shut down. Now all the fun is at "F3 Fanatics". Grab an F3 car and we'll see ya where the fun is! Bryan
ok you try to upload a .dll to that ftp I run 2 servers both have live timing when I rented from them and when it came down to it they did not allow core access that mean ALL FILES not just some like the packages folder and trust me when I say you do not have access to all your files via the ftp just ask Dave he will tell you the same thing you do not have access to the dedicated server tool(only PLR and Mutltiplayer.ini text files) you have a page where you can start the server and stop the server and you may reinstall it. I did tell them that not having core access is the main reason there server did not work for me next time you are in TS3 support speaking to Dave ask him if he knows Dany Mitchel. Ok... With NRT I haven't had to be bothered uploading anything... These guys do it all, and are just a quick loggon to TS3 away, to get the job done!!! They are also working, along with IsI to get it so that my dedicated server will work similarly to the using the "host" button in rF2. Ultra kudos to the great guys at NRT! Thank you, Bryan
Agreed I had no issues apart from not being able to upload .dll(Needed For Livetiming) to the server, they are very welcoming in their TS3 they do what you ask and they cost not a lot on money they are also committed to the customer. I hosted with them when rf2beta was 1st released so I do understand there comments about .dll and problems with the game and they did say once the game was more stable they would allow the uploading of .dll Kudos to Dave and the team over at NRT
Why to not rent whole machine or put own into some data center? from my experience it's most comfy solution. you have access to whole machine by remote desktop and other services installed by your own (ftp, sftp whatever). we did that for years. we used some server housing in Praque/CR and OVH (remote server rent). especialy the last one was good due to no limits in data traffic and low price.
Hey Danny...Hope all is well? Ya we have come a long way as to taming the beast... The .dll files are only a security measure on our end to ensure the wrong stuff or evasive security issues are not introduced. same with the uploading of exe's and bat files...better safe than sorry right? We are working real close with Stevo at Live Racers to get this working with his program..besides some other stuff. We have found a couple of work arounds, that is starting to make it more user friendly. Duane says hello...he just moved from Tuscon, Arizona back to Ohio...why I have no idea..lol...others look to move there for the heat...he moves out to the cold...go figure.... Anyways.. Take care... Agreed Dave Security Is an Issues not taken lightly or you get your pants taken down I hope to be back with you soon the VPS are working out Great for us on short races up to may be 4hrs But for our Endurance races of 4frs or more we will need to rent a Server as the VPS will crash after 4hrs due to the amount of Data being stored in the memory what we would be looking at is running all our live timing from the VPS but the race on the Deadi this is still down the road a ways It defiantly will not be before rFactor2 is released. PS Dave any chance you can pm me a link to your logo.png as I reinstalled the website and I have lost your logo and as I mentioned I would like to support you as you are indeed one of the best Server providers I have had the good fortune to host with.
