Default vehicle list in Mod Mode for track testing?

Hi all,
I'm new to rFactor modding; please forgive me if this has a commonly known solution!

I'm making a new track in rFactor 2, and I want to test out the track with more than the basic SkipBarber vehicle. I have downloaded and installed vehicles, but they only show up in Single Player / Race mode - in Mod Mode I only see the Skip Barber vehicles. It looks like Mod Mode won't load from .rfcmp files.

Is there a way to get the regular, packaged vehicles to show up in Mod Mode? Or, is there a way to un-package a vehicle so I can add it to my Mod Mode vehicles folder and still load it?
