Hi everyone, maybe this has been asked already somewhere. If yes please delete the thread and send me the link, but i´ll would like to know if there is a pack to run a dedicated server without being logged on steam with the launcher. Sorry for my english. Thank you.
Hi Phil, Create a desktop shortcut to the rFactor2 Dedicated.exe in the bin64 folder, then right click and select properties => in the target line add +path=".." to the end and save. Mine looks like this; Code: "D:\rfactor2-dedicated\Bin64\rFactor2 Dedicated.exe" +path=".." Hope this helps Goanna
Thanks, i think i´m close to make it work.....I still have a error message: View attachment 20110 I´ve got everything from default in the INSTALLED folder: View attachment 20111
You have installed steamCMD and installed the rFactor2 dedi software. Then you´ve installed some content (rfcmp / tracks and vehicles). The next step is you have to create a vMod ( in Steam Workshop called RaceEvents) This is the required Mod from your 0003 pic. Guide --> http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=554544322 After you´ve created this vMod and installed it. You can open the dedicated server... Hello, following every tutorials, i still have the same issue. ( sur something i´m doing wrong) I have my "RACING" folder created here: C:\Racing I have my dedicated server folder too: C:\Racing\rfactor2-dedicated Inside here is the content: View attachment 20121 The shorcut from the Bin64 FOLDER is : "C:\Racing\Bin64\rFactor2 Dedicated.exe" +path=".." Package have been created: C:\Racing\Packages View attachment 20122 Installed folder too: C:\Racing\Installed The result: View attachment 20123 What am i missing?
Honestly, this looks a litle strange to me. If you have installed the rfactor 2 dedicated server trough SteamCMD like the guide, than your installation root folder should be in "rfactor2-dedicated" But if you installed it there KT should be running also. Please check in the ModMgr, where you've installed your tracks and vehicles that your createt Mod is installed and check that the used path are correct ( bottom right, there are 2 paths, one for the packages folder and the other one for the root folder. C:/Racing/ in your case. ) Gesendet von meinem iPhone mit Tapatalk
Ok, following the guide on steam ( http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=553088396 ), my bad english make effects ...Something i don´t understand , regarding multiple servers running together....What shouls i do exactly ? Only copy and paste the entire folder and only rename the exe (also opening other ports of course)...Right? "if you want to run more than one dedicated server on the same computer, you need to have a unique copy of the player folder for each. To set that up, start by going to your installation and then to the UserData folder. If you've already run the dedicated server before, you will see a "player" folder. If not, do that first. Then make a copy of the player folder, go in and change the ports (and possibly your router and firewall again). Then create a new shortcut to launch this dedicated server. In the "Target" field of this shortcut, add the following behind rFactor2 Dedicated.exe: +profile=player2 Assuming the copy of the player folder is called "player2". From now on, you can use this shortcut to launch this instance of the dedicated server. In theory you can add as many as you have ports, bandwidth, memory and CPU power for."
I will keep on this thread. So two years are gone, and i´m stuck to a new level. I´ve make the first step instalation like explain in the tutorial : https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=553088396 So this is what i´ve got: Root instalation: XXX:\Dedicated\steamapps\common\rFactor 2 Dedicated Server\Bin64\rFactor2 Dedicated.EXE Root packages: XXX:\Dedicated\steamapps\common\rFactor 2 Dedicated Server\Packages\RFCMP Files Root ModMGR: XXX:\Dedicated\steamapps\common\rFactor 2 Dedicated Server\Bin32\ModMgr.EXE Root MAS2: XXX:\Dedicated\steamapps\common\rFactor 2 Dedicated Server\Support\Tools\MAS2.EXE I run the ModMgr.EXE but i only see what i´ve put in my package folder, i can´t see something downloaded from the workshop You´re help will be welcome And for the gMotor2 MAS File utility i get this after following the two step explained here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=554544322 Root packages: D:\Dedicated\steamapps\common\rFactor 2 Dedicated Server\Packages Screen empty
It's right, now you have to copy the rfcmp file from the workshop folder to the package folder and install it with the Modmanager. To have multiple server the guide above is right, here some screens: EDIT: didn't noticed the post about multiple servers was from 2 years ago
Because the thing is that if you choose for example to choose from the workshop a circuit let says this one: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=705367165 It will be directly installed in the "installed folder" and not available in package......This is where i´m a bit confused...
And if you are using SteamCMD to download workshop's items you will find them here ...steamcmd\steamapps\workshop\content\365960
Ok....Yes is there F:\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\365960 But for the creation package process it will not work.... I think for a dedicatedserver, the dedicated server must be where the GAME is installed... I´m lost ....
Step number 5 (above): I run the ModMgr.EXE but i only see what i´ve put in my package folder, i can´t see something downloaded from the workshop
You need to copy the .rfcmp that are in the subfolder of the workshop items steamapps\workshop\content\365960 in your packages folder to be able to install them with ModMgr.exe. The dedicated server doesn't "see" the workshop files.
