They changed things!!
Apparently I was able to create servers before because the 'packages' were combined mod/track rfmods.
Now mods and tracks are separate 'packages'.
This is why we now have to make our own vmod to be able to host :(

I actually love being now able to create ones own mod but not being able to just simply host a server is a BIG backward step imo.

For default ISI content we should not have to faff around making a vmod!!
 
You can't please all of the people all of the time.

People were complaining that cars and tracks were bundled together, wanted to see them separated. Now they are and people complain they aren't bundled together ...

Look on the bright side though: it's forced everyone to learn something that was worth knowing how to do. We can now all make our own vmods, and the world is wonderful.
 
I just timed it . My mas2.exe is in it's default location. Starting from desktop and navigating to Mas2.exe, create mod (Clios at Croft), package ,register and install.......... 42 seconds . If I could be bothered to create a shortcut to the exe, I could half that.

Takes me longer than that to find my glasses :)

Lol, i can't see a thing without mine, the only time i take them off is when i go to bed...so there always in the same place, unless of course i've had one glass to many :).

I hear what your saying and it's true.

I have the solution..........

Allow simple hosting as it used to be for the 'packages' install.
For the lite install you have to make your own vmod.

Number of drivers on a server??


Hi, I have a few questions. I want to start a dedicated server for a party of more than 30 drivers, but apparently will not let me. The maximum allowed by the server I is 30 riders, although most do not get to put lets in, any suggestions to this poblem?

I tried to change this line of multiplayer, but it is possible to put more than 30 pilots. Not if it is correct the value to change to put more drivers on the track.

change what you said, but still not working. Not if you really can get over 30 riders on the track and see if I can tim answer my question

Try editing the line

Lessen Restrictions="0" // Allows careful users to test the limits

setting it to "1" in the server multiplayer.ini.
 
Yes, 30 clients limit is, say so, a "safety measure", but the ISI team allows to overpass such limit via the Lessen Restrictions multiplayer ini line .

Such multiplayer line worked in the old rF too, but the "safe limit" of clients, in rF, was 20.
