    Daytona International Speedway

Daytona International Speedway is an oval circuit located in Daytona Beach in the US state of Florida.

On the circuit, the first race of the NASCAR Sprint Cup season, the Daytona 500, held since its inauguration in 1959, is being held. Currently, this event offers the winner more than $ 1 million. The 24 Hours of Daytona is also held, an event similar to the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and hosts 7 more NASCAR events.

Shoot-out is also played on the circuit, which is a warm-up test for the NASCAR season. The 500 miles of Daytona always occurs in the previous week.

The circuit construction plans started with NASCAR founder William France 1953 in order to promote the category, which competed in the race at the Daytona Beach Street Circuit, the engineer hired was Charles Moneypenny who traveled to Detroit to consult track details Ford testing facilities. [1]

The city of Daytona Beach has agreed to lease 181 hectares of land near Daytona Beach Municipal Airport at a price of $ 10,000 a year for 50 years, the building also received money from $ 600,000 oil magnate Clint Murchison and Pepsi, to make the slope of the curves sand from the land itself was used, which subsequently formed an artificial lake called Lake LLoyd.

The circuit was inaugurated on 25 November 1957 and the first edition of the 500 Miles of Daytona was on 22 February 1959, the first mixed section was opened in 1959 where in 1964 the first edition of the 24 Hours of Daytona was held, in 1971 a dirt track for motocross was built, in 1973 a chicane was installed on the opposite straight, the lights were installed on the circuit in 1998 for the night race of the Coke Zero 400, in 2005 another stretch of the mixed circuit was added for racing motorcycles.

Yes it does but it's all porteguese and the formatting of the version and file name is off-putting. Also, mesh seems flatter compared to isr version.

    Oh s397, won't you save us :p

It's in Portuguese? No problem, I'll feel as Joao Barbosa ;)
I remember GSCE version of this simraceway track was quite good. Of course, mesh must be bit outdated.

Is it ok for offline? ISR version isn't perfect for that.
I'll be able to compare both when I'll receive my new computer.

I could finally test it ..and adopt it as my favorite Daytona RC.
Except couple of strange lightings & reflections, it's very good.
Furthermore, AI look to work quite well despite author wrote ""AIW NÃO ESTA 100% PRONTO PARA OFFLINE""
Only minus point is road mesh that looks bit flat.

Thank you, its the best version I've found.
Of the two road course versions, it would really be nice if the first version bypassed the Bus Stop chicane. Thats how the track was configured the last time I drove in 1990, and for the most part I drive Group C and older prototypes.

Really? I thought prototypes were using the bus stop for much more longer time.
It must be impressive with a Group C (or GTP in USA as far as I remember). On which cars have you run?
I worked during some years in motorsport in Europe but never had opportinity to attend the 24hrs of Daytona unfortunately. Once, we were about to register a Porsche Cup but our drivers finally decided to go to Dubai instead. And now, it's far too expensive for a semi-pro team. Anyway, I hope someday I'll go there.
Meanwhile, I enjoy running virtually on it .:)

Even if AIW is quite good I know this circuit hasn't been set up for offline races
I noticed strange during free practices: IA run couple of laps, usually 3-5, and then go back to pit and never go out again.
