Version 1 of DashPanel is out!

The app still doesn't have half the features I intend for it to have but I hope it’s already useful for the remaining non VR simracers out there I consider this just the beginning and will continue to add to DashPanel going forward!

 

This looks awesome, will it stay free forever? Sounds to me like it's time to ditch dashmeter pro

DashPanel has a time unlimited Demo mode where Speed, RPM and Gear are updated. Full data unlocks can be purchased in application.

 

I did poke around with it a bit and I must say so far it looks like the best option for me atm. There are some features I'm missing tho, like how many laps I can do with the remaining fuel and also how much time I got left before I run out of fuel. Are those features planed to be added at a later point maybe?

 

Yes there are a lot of things on my to do list that I want to add but if people ask I'll bring them up the top of the list.
I was going to add fuel usage. Is there anything specific you need other than estimated laps and time?
For instance is it useful to set how many previous laps to include in the average fuel usage?

 

'Fuel used last lap' is always useful and yes, setting how many previous laps to include would be nice as well. Would also be handy if you could exclude full course yellow flag laps.

 

Needed fuel for the rest of the race (lap/time based race) is allways a good information

 

I bought it, nice job!! I suggest you to look to z1 dashboard. So many things to improve.

 

I will look at fuel next. People seem to want that and a live delta.
I was working on a standings board but that doesn't seem so important/popular and can wait for now.

 

Would love to see a 'start with windows' 'minimize on startup' and 'minimize to tray' feature to the dash panel server. See where I'm going with this? =)

Yes it used to start minimized but I got too many messages of people saying 'the server doesn't start!'
Will add these options when im less busy adding to the client app!

 

The more I use this the more I love it. Tried to do some custom layouts and I'm really happy with them. Came across a bug and got a few ideas of how to improve this software tho so here we go.

Bug
-Options button is greyed out when the 'Tyre Temperatures' widget is selected (wanted to hide the label text)

Ideas for improvement
-It's hard to fit everything on just one screen/layout so would be awesome if you could link 2 or more layouts together then switch between them by just tapping the screen. Tap right half of the screen for next layout and left for previous layout. Something similar to what Dashmeter Pro has.
-An easy way to share and download layouts with other users.

Yes I have the idea to have multiple pages in a dashboard. DashmeterPro is more loading a whole different dashboard, I would like the pages to be within the one dash like the real ones. I see it as being a tough one though not a quick addition, just thinking how it work in the editor and everything. But yeah I hope I can figure out how to add it in the future?! What I really wanna do is change the pages with buttons on the wheel but now I'm getting ahead of myself

You can copy your dashboard layouts around.
If you connect your android to computer with USB you can find the dashboards here:
\Tablet\Android\data\com.PyrofrogStudios.DashPanel\files\RacingDashboards

Of course I would love some sort of user gallery on my page. Would have to see how to do that. I wanted to host a forum where people could share dashboards but it kept getting spammed by bots so I had to delete it!

 

To start with windows, go to "Start" and type: "shell:startup", you can put a shortcut here.

It seems I made a mistake and forgot to remove the beta expiry check from the server. I am away from my computer for a few days however I have been able to remotely connect to it with my tablet to build and upload a new server. However I am not able to test it properly with a tablet and games so please let me know if this updated server works for you:
