Many thanks for this great plugin! Does anyone know if there is also a plugin available for rFactor 1? And if so, is there also like for rFactor 2 a channel for FFB output to see clipping?
Weird I didn’t get a notification for this post until now, we already discussed in private! For anyone else: I do have an rF1 plugin, but logging the FFB isn’t a thing and isn’t useful (unless you’re a rare player using default FFB). But it logs steering arm force which can then be used to tune RealFeel.
I'm not sure about it working on rFactor1, I would guess no, but lazza can say it for sure. There's a channel on rFactor2 called "FFB output" that shows exactly that. Goes from -100% to 100% so it's a good idea to use absolute values to check for clipping in either direction. theres a video from Mordorsport Max that explains how to do it. I also keep a workspace in my drive if you're interested in that. Last tab shows FFB, % oftime that it is clipping, and a track map highlighting the regions where it does. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1I01AjBeAdM0ZvIFsdi5S6nQsixV8wuf-/view?usp=drive_link
I think that you can use this plugin available for Automobilista that was originally designed for rFactor: https://www.overtake.gg/downloads/automobilista-daq-plugin-setup.11540/
I shared my rF1 plugin with Marco by pm; should I throw it on this forum? Didn’t really consider if there’s any demand for it, but with the isi forum gone it might be worthwhile… (mine works with more recent i2pro versions, no conversion required)
For rF1, I have to use the standard version, the pro 1.1.6.0904 says: "This version of i2 only suppors Pro logging enabled files" The data files from rF2 do work with the Pro version.
I had no idea about that conversion therefore I use actually an older version of i2 Pro to read the files. I'd be interested to try your plugin since the current one reports just a quite few channels.
The conversion I'm referring to, is from the DAQ plugin log format that was compatible with very old i2Pro versions, to a newer format (mostly minor changes, but also a timing change IIRC) that is compatible with newer - but not current - i2Pro versions. Any of these loggers you've used are outputting Pro files, but certain small differences can stop them working with i2Pro (unless you have the right version installed). It's all a bit messy. I've created a thread for the rF1 plugin that would be better to discuss such things, as they're not relevant to DAMPlugin. https://forum.studio-397.com/index.php?posts/1157819/
Thanks for creating the separate thread. I will not bother anyone in this thread about the old plugin anymore
