I'll be driving around and the screen will freeze for a few seconds. Only started when using the plugin but I did change OBS settings so I'll have a fiddle and see what happens.

Yeah, think it might be the plugin. Turned it off and everything went back to normal. Every 30s or so I’d get a CPU spike.

@AMillward The CPU load from this plugin is pretty constant, if anything were to cause a periodic lag I'd expect it to be writing to disk, which could manifest every 30 seconds or so depending on the channel config. The timing would change somewhat if you turned all the optional channels on and increased the data rate (that would bring the period down under 10 seconds). I also wouldn't have expected it to freeze the screen for a few seconds, the only time I've seen something like that is when writing to a HDD that had spun down (power settings).

I'm surprised because until very recently I was on a 2.8Ghz quad core with 800Mhz ram and a normal 5400 rpm HDD for my logs - so if I wasn't getting performance issues I don't really see how anyone else able to run rF2 could (I did have some performance issues, but they didn't change whether I had this plugin active or not).

If you are willing to try a different channel config and see if the pattern changes (and the issue persists and continues to show a relation to this plugin) I'll look into what could be causing it. Strange one though.

@Lazza Is it possible to have something in the plugin that enables you to do have a hotkey pressed everytime the plugin starts recording and stops. I want to enable shadowplay to automatically record my pov in the sim and after Motec can automatically sync the video files to the correct telemetry. Would be so nice. Great plugin btw:)

@Eater Don't worry, what you did is exactly what I'd hoped to make people do because nobody reads those things properly

While I suppose this is possible it's not something I've played around with before, and not sure how much demand there would be for something like this. Have you considered going the other way, activating shadowplay with a keypress and having the plugin respond to the same keypress to begin recording? You can set the activation key scancode directly, so F9 for example I believe is 0x43. I haven't tried this so can't vouch that it works.

V0.78 released. Finally finished wrestling with the post editing function so here's a quick rundown:

    Changes:
    • Reorganised the channels a bit. More of the commonly used channels are now recorded always (ride height, tyre load, FFB output, …) which has made some of the optional groups more specialised. You are more likely to get away with just the base channels, or will only need specific groups, rather than logging everything. The default project in i2Pro will show less info than before (no Suspension Position, for example) but I think everyone really needs to modify that default anyway.
    • Added a 'Marker' channel. You need to bind the "Telemetry Marker" in Controls -> Devices, then if you press that input while driving you'll find that the Marker channel reflects your input in the log. You can press it multiple times (timeout is 1 second) to record higher values. This may help you note some specific car behaviour, or act as a memory jogger to check the telemetry at a particular moment in order to tune the setup. Note that this is only accurate to 1 second (higher values, from multiple presses, are recorded at the time of the first press).
    • Added Max Straight Speed and Min Corner Speed. These are simple channels that hold the previous straight's max speed and the previous corner's min speed, useful for quick comparison. It's hard to make this record every kink or short straight, or avoid sometimes picking up a mid-corner fluctuation as another straight and corner, and I'll look to improve it, but it can be a useful guide. This sort of thing can be displayed in realtime in real life (on Motec displays, obviously), there's currently no way to do this in the game from this plugin.
    Issues:
    • I think just the one... I added some base Wheels and Scoring channels but forgot to add precision or range options for those. It shouldn't affect anyone too much, I'll add those for next time.
I haven't noticed any issues with performance but if anyone can find a pattern I'll be happy to investigate.

@Lazza I got a virus threat from Windows Defender, it won't let me run or extract the exe from the zip file at all.

@MarcG Grab the manual installation archive and put the files in that way. I submitted the last couple to them for analysis but I doubt they'll try to avoid it - some false positives are probably better than missing some more actual threats, I suppose.

    Great plugin!
Is there any chance of getting more engine channels? Like turbo speed, pre- and post-throttle pressure, exhaust pressure, wastegate and blowoff function etc? I assume rf2 calculates these, since they are in the physics calculator .ods, but not sure if it's possible to log them or not?

They aren't provided to plugins, no. There's basically nothing left that you can't log with this.

    Hey guys,
I'll take part in my first league race in rF2 in mid July so I'm currently setting up motec.
Everything is fine and I can't thank you enough @Lazza to have built this plugin!

One big problem for me though is getting the "GPS Track" to work. To get better I need to compare the lines taken. I don't need the track edges or anything, just when overlaying 2 laps: seeing the lines.

I searched for a few hours now and apparently this should be possible but I don't find the "GPS Channels" anywhere. Only "Path Lateral".

I think I'm totally at a loss, just needing a push in the right direction.

I'd be really thankful if someone could explain to me how I get this done! :)

    Thanks in advance,
    Rasmus

Should look like this in the end: (screenshot from Assetto Corsa Workshop)

Not sure what you want to do here, if you pick another lap in the data selection you get that lap as an overlay like this?

    upload_2018-6-8_15-9-4.png

I have not found any easy way to convert/download any track maps so I do them for every track manually
It's quite easy if you have some time to spare.

Tire temperatures and pressures don't show anymore with 0.78. The channels do show up but temperatures are fixed at 1037,58 and pressures at 0,00. All is fine when I load 0.77 log files.
I've tried removing all files and reinstalled again 0.78 (without modifying the .ini settings file that is created in first launch) but nothing changes, still no tire information.
