Hi rFactor 2 players, I am happy to announce, that Crew Chief version 4.5 has rFactor 2 support added! Crew Chief is a team radio engineer, developed and maintained by @mr_belowski. He kindly supported this effort, and thanks to him and gongo we now have human like, highly responsive, open source spotter in rF2. If you're not familiar with CC, check out those videos: http://thecrewchief.org/forumdisplay.php?22-Crew-Chief-videos I'd like to thank gongo for his work on adding rF1/AMS support in Crew Chief. This work started off rF1/AMS implementation. Also, I'd like to thank my friend, @jefcam who helps me test privates and provides excellent inputs, feedback and helped greatly with the initial release. Well done Wolf The app is a bit short on documentation but has loads of features including voice recognition, foul language and thousands of driver names. There's a thread on the sector3 forums here: https://forum.sector3studios.com/in...chief-version-4-auto-updating-and-shiny.2516/ This has some documentation and videos. This post has some info on how to get the app to address you by name: https://forum.sector3studios.com/index.php?posts/91729/
Pleasure to deal with you @mr_belowski, I've no doubt we'll make this thing shine even more and I am looking forward to it.
Thanks to @mr_belowski, gongo and to @The Iron Wolf forse their awesome work!! @Marcel Offermans can you help them?
Works Now! Guess I got my antivirus to ignore it. Really like the sounds so far. Thanks. Probably should have posted here instead of the plugin forum, sorry: Tried to install. Avast tagged the latest CC program. When I try to run it I get: "Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have permissions to access the item." I have Win10, .Net 4.5, and ran it as admin. Previous versions of CC launched fine, but I only have rF2.
It's built using the same PC as always, but including this one that's 3 separate heuristic virus checker warnings since the first release. I've spent significant time chasing these down - I submitted the app the Panda AV last year and it was confirmed as a false positive but it was a faff. I think this is also a false positive but I guess you need to use your own judgement here. Of course, if your av thinks it's a malicious app it won't allow it to run properly
Yes, there are issues with internals model that limit the quality of what CC can do. I imagine S397 is very busy wrapping up DX11, but later down the road I hope those can be addressed. From what I observe, those issues are minor and can be fixed without breaking compatibility with old plugins. Though of course, nothing goes as planned in software
Great! One of my favorite mods and now available for one of my favorite sims. With the latest R3E AI changes it's going to be hard to race anything other than R3E and rF2.
What a great plugin. I love it. Thank you. Maybe consider adding a pit box countdown. Like 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. The pitstop arrow is still very hard to see. That would help a lot.
Thanks for suggestion. I'll add this and other suggestions to the loooong list of missing features compared to rF2 spotter
Maybe I shouldn't ask this here or ask about it at all, but several of you did some work with Gerald's Spotter2. Is Crew Chief a new, separate approach to that effort? I like Spotter2 because it allowed me to use Vocalware to record the names of my own AI (I use great authors) and I was able to add a little code that gave me my lap times at the end of each lap so I could keep my screen pristine. That ability to personally customize the app is a top priority for me.
You have a winner with this, have been using in other sims. Great spotter and works well. . Thanks Jim @mr_belowski,Gongo and @The Iron Wolf
