Hello I wish to create a new track mesh for a rfactor 2 track in 3dsmax by picking the two boundarys and deleting the existing mesh. I saw one technique that was complicated and required alot of work to adjust, and was wondering if anyone who was more familiar with 3dsmax knew of a faster method and could give us a few short explanation how to carry it out. Thanks.
As you said, there are many methods of doing this. One could be something like this. View attachment 20325 View attachment 20326 View attachment 20327 View attachment 20324
You can also attach them, make it so the 1st verts of each spline are across from each other(click the make first button), and do a cross section, then add a surface modifier to the top.
Other methods also. Wouldn't be a good idea to release any of the tracks (or replicating tools), as it could understandably piss off lots of track mod makers. I make little test tracks with a 5m or 10m poly (mesh) terrain on each side to test fastLine generation in aiw~thing: View attachment 20328
