    Hi,

When playing back in rFactor 1, I always used to create my own team + livery to race under.
In rF1, this was a simple case of duplicating one of the existing team folders, popping in the new livery DDS file, and changing the .VEH file accordingly.

However, now that I'm playing rFactor 2, I'm not able to immediately see how to do this (Note: I've no experience in creating any mods).

If anyone could assist me, or point me in the right direction (help, articles or tutorials), it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance ...

    Mark

As far as i know, you will have to repack a mod/comp after you have added your own Team with an own *.veh, to the existing *Team.MAS.

If you are satisfied with only having an own Skin, you can push the Button "CREATE DIR" in the Vehicles\Tuning Screen.
The Path of the cereated folder is shown at the top of the Screen and inside this folder you'll find an "alt.DDS".

Take that as a Pattern if you don't have a Template and paint your own Skin.
You can give it another name if you want.

When done, your Skin is available as "VARIANTS" in the Tuning-Screen.
But you have to close the game and start it again, after you have added your Skin, or it won't be shown.

If you have selected your "alt.dds" VARIANTS:

In single player you can create a "virtual ride" : your skin, your team name etc.

It shows up as a seperate car to choose from with your name.

But this is not supported for multiplayer.

It would be cool if there was a easy sollution to use custom team/livery's that could be used with driver swaps.

Something like embedding "virtual rides" into a vmod.
Something like tick boxes to select the virtual rides that needs to be embedded into the vmod.

    :D

    In build 930

When you create your own virtual ride. You can use it online!!!
And your virtual ride will be transferred in game like an alt.dds skin.

known issue: you are limited to 1 virtual ride per default livery.
For example the ISI Megane has 6 default livery's, so you can have maximum 6 virtual rides...
And the virtual ride uses the default livery's car number.

But i think ISI is working on it. There is a genvehxxxxxx.scn file is the log folder when you create or receive a virtual ride.
With references to the original vehicle installation and .gmt files...

So hopefully we (or the drivers them self) can add as many cars as they want.
With their windshield, helmet, car number, rim colors. Anyway all the same stuff that is in the teams.mas

The only thing i didn't test is doing a driver swap with a virtual ride.

Can you give us a detailed guide how to do this online?
