I have a problem, Every time I click race from the main menu, it loads into the track and gets to the timing screen and then crashes to desktop. (In actual fact it's running in the background but I can't access it so I have to kill it via the task manager). The system & drivers is up to date and so is the game up to date & verified. I had this exact problem a few weeks ago. After trying various "fixes" that didn`t work and then chatting to some others about it I decided to just do a fresh install of rf2. It takes a while but it fixed the problem.
I worked it out. I deleted every d3d9.dll file I could find in the RF2 folder and verified the game files again. Thanks for your help.
