'Could not connect to Matchmaker' fix.. :)

I have to say that the DEDI App in 146 will crash when it tries to reconnect to the matchmaker.
You can run DEDI and then shutdown the network connection or any other ways to make sure DEDI can not connect matchmaker.
Then the crash happens.

I am a software dev and i think maybe a pointer is NULL at that moment. Wish it's helpful.
I believe that the build 146 wants to fix the reconnection problem. But much more tests will be better :)

48 restarts this weekend...having to constantly monitor the server so i dont let our league down is getting tedious
 
It's the reason I haven't started mine Jim.. 48 restarts would see me going to iRacing and that, I don't even want to think about.. lol.
 
yer unfortuneatly we keep paying for our server no matter how many times rF2 crashes...4 times this hour alone

Radar you might be on to something members or ppl might decide to go to other sims. ( hope not )
 
Have recieved the file from Jeremy this morning.. I will put up on the server when I get home this arvo Coops.. He has mentioned that he found some other issues while fixing this one that he is currently working on..

I'm reading this as 'next patch a little further away than say a week or so'.. In saying that, I'd prefer to test this for at least a week and see what happens..

Jim.. Just so you know, I'd like to give Jeremy the best feedback we can, therefore test all it's features.. I'm starting with only one server with default (Full Build 146 install) with no file changes (multiplayer and plr). I'll then try the 'Get Mod' and other file changes and then 2 servers etc..

I'll post in here Jim what I have tested and found (if any), and hopefully together we will cover all bases with this version to advise Jeremy on.
 
yep no probs...ours is standard except ive set it to pause when empty...8 hours all good so far...record is 17 so if we get thru tonight you will probably here my cheers in the ACT ;)
 
Well so far, it had disconnected 'Cannot Connect to Matchmaker' BUT WAIT... This is the part Jeremy would like to hear... It reconnected :)

2 hours and 50 mins in, 'Could Not Connect to Matchmaker'.. Withing about 30secs it changed to 'Server updating successfully' which is great news.. :)

I was able to locate the server, connect to it without problems.. Now to make some changes to the files and keep it running :)

So far so good :)
 
24 hours no dropouts or CTD :cool: ...28 people entering or leaving the server last night with no problems (i even left my pc to watch some tv instead of watching the server) :D

have now set the room to our seasons needs to see how it goes

Same here Jim, no CTD, no dropouts, people connecting and reconnecting without troubles and it does everything else to keep it connected to matchmaker :)
 
Yes forgot to mention a big thanks to Jeremy...not having to watch the server so much means i can catch up on some beauty sleep...and trust me i need it :cool:
