[REL] Cooper-Climax T43/45 1957-1958 F1/F2 car + 1959 T51

I can`t find this car in rF2 select car list.

It`s in the Workshop Content and is installed but I can`t find it anywhere in the select car list.

I guess I must be doing (or have done) something wrong but it`s not in that list.

o_O:confused:

Btw @mantasisg the invitation to your discord is now invalid. Do you still have your discord?

Thank you for pointing out, here is new invitation to my discord link: https://discord.gg/XuvmKmr3

Cooper T43/45 Should be in F1 1950s category. I hope it is there. Let me know.

By the way, I have been working on T51. Also Mexes model. It is great, had to fight a little with chassis and then balance the car a bit, but it is now a proper F1 car in my opinion. Feels a bit like 60s, but it is 1959. T53 must have been absolute blast, now that I think of. I think T53 might have been alltime apex of F1, maybe. T51 is almost up there.

Cheers. Will join your discord. :) I just noticed the link is actually in your signature. o_O :D

Yes the Cooper T43/45 is in the F1 1950`s category. Sweet.

One thing though, I sent the AI out at Brianza 1966 but when I sent my AI driver out for practice he just drove straight on and couldn`t exit the pits. Not sure if this is a Brianza bug or something with the car but thought I`d mention it anyway.

Thanks again for the car.

Yeah Italy cars leaving pits some issues but stands true for either version.
General rule I lower aggression when pits are tight ;)

Cheers 8. Will give that a try. :)

This is what happens seems updated Brianza I run 120% even lowering aggression
I used to run same settings all day and never have issues there.
Even tested 100% still getting yellow flags in practice and qualifying which is just too slow anyways.
Problem running 120% it's too fast for pit-lane in many scenario.

Same as Belgium since update, get AI crashing where they never.
Was thinking of trying complete fresh folder, been years.

P.S. However 120% they still race well, pit stops and all, which course matters more.
I really don't get people saying AI is worse now ( as in racing )

Yes that`s the sort of issues I`m having at Brianza too. Sometimes the AI controlled player car just sits in the pits turning the steering wheel and sometimes it just drives past the pit marshal guy and drives straight into the building. :p
Annoying though as sometimes I want to check out a new car/track/mod and don`t have time to set my wheel up but this is what the AI do.

Be good to get a fix for this.

Sorry for OT in thread but I have brain fade lately.
There is a fix for tight pits and better AI behaviour, doh.

I had reset a lot of stuff using hardlinks and GME's and my player files were not setup properly.
Been using normal low fuel loads for shorter races, for ages seems. doh.

If you force AI to use full tanks they don't crash in pit-lane and lessen chance of rear ending other cars.
It's because they are so flighty at 120% with low fuel, full tanks grips them up.
20 litres they leaving black lines at pit hairpin .. full tanks not a mark on road.

Went back to normal full tanks after that screenshot and never had a single incident or yellow flag.
You can still increase fuel usage to have pit stops in shorter races ;)

Just did 10 lap Brianza full tanks @ 7x fuel 5x tyres
AI pitted lap 6-7-8
I went long ( lap 9 ) just made it, short filled and took no tyres :p ...just a test I would normally take tyres.
That is real problem, you can't dictate what AI do with them and their situation is different ( physics)

Interesting finding, makes sense if having more grip (in this case because more load on tires) makes AI handle car a bit more sane.

I always run AI aggression very low, maybe they are bit less engaging then in fights, but they also wouldn't just ram yo uand then keep throttling as often.

rF2 has indeed great AI, probably best, I think it is best. But there probably will never be perfect AI, bu can wish for little bit better of everything.

On the other hand.

NEWS

Cooper T51 has been released now, only available through my discord now, as it is in testing, early development phase, hopefully it can be complete enough sooner than later to go public. https://discord.gg/XuvmKmr3

I`m getting "Content not viewable in your region" for your (what I presume to be) screens @mantasisg

o_O

This never used to happen. Was the same at OverTake.

First of all, thanks for the work you do by trying to bring some vintage race cars to rF2. There must be a lot of effort going into a mod like this. However I'm struggling with the Cooper, I don't enjoy it at all. Something is strange with the driving. FFB seems ways worse to me than the Vanwall for example. I use a G923 and I cannot agree with mjo1704.
The steering feels light, and grainy, almost no feedback at all, yet Motec shows me I'm in the right range (no clipping etc,). Also the steering feels like it inverts the FFB forces at times, very strange...
I don't feel it with the Vanwall for example. By the way, your link to the Discord is expired @mantasisg

for me the cooper's ffb effects feel quite strong like they should in cars without power steering but when you turn into a steep bend the steering should become heavier so this doesn't happen at least on cheaper wheels
i don't know how it works for example with fanatec wheels. and sometimes it feels like the ffb varies for example if you update the graphics card drivers it seems to change the ffb I don't know the ffb logic, on two identical machines it works differently. but for me the cooper has stronger effects than for example gt3 dlc cars. it seems like every pc lives its own life

@66wheels I tried.

ForceFeedBack talk will always be fruitless. I can't understand what is light for you, what is grainy for you. Maybe for other it is heavy and smooth. I wish it was possible to upload feels, and understand exactly whats up. Maybe in future we will be able to record our feelings into motec telemetry, and then we will be able to compare.

I have had people complaining about how there is no detail, and then they admit they use FFB smoothing like at 6, and when I suggest to use it 0-1, they go like "NO". Ok. Could perhaps it be sometimes an opposite scenario, I don't know, potentially with low tier gear.

There are lots of variables anyway. Besides what feelings you tend to have personally for whatever reasons, what you drove before and adjusted to that, if you do need or not need to use reset ffb function, your force feedback settings, what upgrade you use, what setup you do, what are conditions you chose to drive at, and what is your track of choice.

The one thing I can relate when you say that steering feels as if it is inverting to you at sometimes. Well that is because with certain chassis geometry you have minimal caster set up, you could be trying to raise it. You could also try not to understeer it so much, I have a feeling that there are trends these days to throw in cars into understeer, and thats so kool to do today. When caster is small, there is small mechanical trail, and diminishing of pneumatic trail at front end when you understeer the car hard will virtually make steering forces go off, thats how it works. Try increasing caster and not use severe understeer that much.

I make cars that bring joy to me, and what I believe are true how they might have been. People enjoy way different kinds of mods, I know. I find most of them depressing, ruined opportunities of what could have happened in rF2. But if for others these cars are better choice, then it is ok, have fun, that is sincere, no sarcasm.

My discord was deleted because voices in my head told me to do it. Just joking. Voices in my he..
