Hey guys... A couple of questions about some content in rF2 I`m unsure of and would like to know what this content is. The first is named 20002207156 that appears in WORKSHOP CONTENT and is installed. The next is two things: One named the same as above (20002207156) along with another named 2000213179 that also appears in WORKSHOP CONTENT. I`m not sure if these are installed or not as they have Orange coloured check marks next to them. If someone could tell me what this content is and what it`s for I`d appreciate it.

Nope. No Pending Updates but still have those Orange check marks against this content I know nothing about.
couple of things to try; 1. Navigate to ....\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\365960 and check the folder numbers to see if they are there. 2. Use Modmanager.... ..\Steam\steamapps\common\rFactor 2\Bin64\ModMgr.exe to see if they show up there. One thing with the modmanager, make sure that you tick the "Mod" box at the top and bottom right make sure it's pointing at the correct folders.
Thanks for the reply. No. None of the two appear in the folder 365960. And neither of them are in ModManager either. I posted this same question on the rF2 Discord and got a reply asking if the content I`m asking about - 20002207156 & 2000213179 - are Race Control server mods. I`ve not got a clue. I`m not even sure what Race Control server mods are tbh. Sounds like online... I don`t do any online racing.
Change of tack, have a look in ...\Steam\steamapps\common\rFactor 2\Manifests folder for mft files.....post a screenie of contents if you can.. I only have one in there.
You wont have Manifests tj unless you use rfmods. All my content is packed in rfmods. I don't use all tracks & cars, instead I have a GME mod to activate it if I need it. I find rF2 loads better without it. Told you before best way to check content is Beyond Compare, you can use the trial version This way you don't have to trawl through numbers, just re-open a saved session You can display list alphabetically or numerically.
Thanks D. Yes you did mention that before if memory serves me correctly. I`ve actually been thinking about doing a re-install of rF2 as tbh, it`s been a while since I`ve used it properly and would like everything to be "fresh" as it were. These 2 bits of "content" are a mystery to me. I`ve no idea where they`ve come from...
It was me that mentioned that it could be a Race Control leftover. Given that it's not, I would venture in saying that no one will actually know :-D Just rF2 being rF2.
Can't hurt, go back to basics, don't do wholesale changes. When you nail settings, save the UserData folder, can always be updated later. One thing I would do beforehand is open workshop and click on Browse / subscribed items. More specifically the 3rd party and make sure you want to keep the lot otherwise click the unsubscribe next to it. Also browse for anything you never had and subscribe anything takes your fancy. When you uninstall first thing Go check what was left behind in rFactor 2 folder , delete the folder. Now install
Cheers D. Good advice as usual. I`m going to have to check my subs though and unsub etc as one of them is causing this rogue content. Will have to see which one it is.
Maybe check appmanifest_365960.acf file from steamapps\workshop\appmanifest_365960.acf (in your steam installation folder), all subscribed mods should be listed in this file. Just open this file with notepad, and search for the two number (20002207156 & 2000213179) see if they are in it.
Thanks @svictor I`ll try that if needed but I "think" I may have found the rogue content in my subs list. There are 3 items in my subs list that are completely blacked out. No thumbnail image of what they are. Two on page 9 and one on page 14. The info for them is as follows: Subscribed on 20 Feb, 2020 @11:15pm Last Updated 1 Jan 1970 @ 1:00am Last Updated1970! The 3rd one is on page 14 and the info for it is: Subscribed on 13 Jan, 2019 @ 5:29pm Last Updated 1 Jan, 1970 @ 1:00am Again... 1970! When I click on the blacked out thumbnail I just get an error message: So... I`m going to unsub from them and see what happens next. The only thing I`m slightly concerned about is I don`t know what this content is and if I unsub I`ll never know what it was. Also I have 2 items of rogue content in game and there 3 items blacked out in my subs list. Anyway... Watch this space.
OK. The rogue content is... GONE!!! I unsubbed from the blacked out content (2000207156 & 2000213179) and the 2 not fully installed numbers have gone. I also unsubbed from rogue number 917387157 and it`s now gone too. It was Silverstone but I still have it so all is good. Will still do a fresh rF2 but happy to report that the rogue content is now removed from Workshop Content in sim. Yay! Many thanks for all the help and suggestions etc guys.
Ah thought you had tried this already from that screenshot lol They don't say unsubscribe until you hover the mouse If all is working I probably wouldn't do fresh. Remove your userdata Then do steam validation Set up player Any problem you can always delete userdata and use backup.
No mate. At first I was a bit unsure whether I should unsub or not from the blacked out content as I didn`t know what it was. But then after a bit of detective work and chatting to you and others I decided to just go for it as I was never going to work out what it was anyway. Yes I was wondering about the fresh rF2 now. Might not be needed. I`ll think about things and see what I decide.
