If everyone already has the Clio MultiCmp installed then yes the sounds don't need to be included. But on a public server there is no guarantee so it is best to include them. If you fail to include them and someone who doesn't have the MultiCmp installed tries to join, then GetMod only downloads the car and lets you on the server and you can race but you will not have any sound. An unexperienced user would have no clue what was wrong. Best practice is to include them. I am sure Jeremy figured this was a special test and anyone involved would already have the MultiCmp. I was just teasing him.
All of our races go over that time as well, except historics that often end at about 20mins, and you can see no issues with any: http://isiofficial.liveracers.com/Results
Is it possible that this is just our continent (Europe)? The same concerns as the test vmod made it a few months now.
We are going to ask people to test again. It hanged for the LDDT league the 30th october, so they replaned their event the 6th November. As that hanged, they are planning a new event the 13th. But if it hangs all the time, guys will finish by abandon...you know, guys are faster at stopping playing a game than begining to play one. And for this game in particular, it took us months to develop a community. Lucky, if you got the same problem as us, you can join our tests? Thanks
Tim, I saw your events but it's only max 6 drivers. Here it works for less than 10. I think we will try to isolate perhaps one driver by cutting the players into groups. Cannot We activate debug/logging? Like I do on my arma2/arma3 dedicated? I mean if it continues, perhaps you'll have to activate logging somewhere to help isolate the issue. Thanks
Ok I'll have a look. I didn't knew that there were logs !!! EDIT : it seems a bit too much crypted for me Lucky what's your league? We have tests until wednesday about this server crash thing. The more we are, the more we can prove this crash bug.
The logs are in the UserData folder and cbash I'm Available tonight. server test: ! France Team SMRC Send MP for contact
We've been running up to 20 cars and drivers in races of at least 20 minutes up to 45 minutes and it isn't a problem running and completing a race online. What *is* a problem is running at 2-6 AM, especially 5-6 AM, and avoiding the inkspot and drop off of headlights. Runs great offline for everyone, but online it may start out good then go bad, or may be good for a driver one time then bad the next. Nothing linear to work off of, and happens/doesn't happen with both AMD and NVIDIA cards. We're using the Tosch hdp, one our drivers came up with, and one from the track. None resolve the problem for everyone when running in those hours for a sustained period of time. We've even had people turn off HDR completely and they still get the headlight drop off and inkspots. And some aren't seeing the problem at all. Why oh why did ISI have to break the night driving now before we try and run a 24-hour event. -sigh-
Apparently it is not 20 minutes, but very random. The server was planted when at least five or six and more on the server
I know you've said people not running HDR also had problems, and I'm not going to argue with you. But in the build release Tim explicitly mentioned HDR not working right in 342 and said you may need to turn it off for night racing. The knownissues also says there are night lighting issues with HDR. Unfortunately you were probably just wasting your time trying to get HDR working right and may have had more luck finding a fix/workaround for everyone if you got them all to turn off HDR first.
Thanks Lazza for your feedback. Yes, we tried it with the HDR off and while I didn't have a problem with HDR on or off, some people say they did, so I only have their feedback to work from. We actually thought just turning it off would solve the problem for everyone, but it seems it didn't. What is very strange is, no one reports a problem with the night driving until around 2 AM track time, and it seems to be the worst at 5 and 6 AM. Apologies to TIG_green for hijacking his connections thread. I'll add any additional lighting discussion to the main Build 342 thread.
I'm confused. Our servers gave run races under and over 6-10? Sent using Tapatalk - excuse the short post, etc
Hi Tim I'm away in the country but there is another mobilization tonight. We'll feedback asap Ps : yes on the page you show me as a link there was between 0 to 6 drivers (when I had a look)
Haha I found the problem Finally, I think VMHOTLAPS.DLL actually cause the crash, it does not explain the crash of different leagues
I can confirm it was this dll that causes the issue. Something must have changed since last build. The 3 leagues were using this for reporting so we have to remove it.
