Well, you are right and I have been saying this from a while! too many bad conversion in rf2, ugly conversions from rf2. How many tracks from the scratch do we have in rf2 in the last 3 years? Croft, Poznan, Putnam Park, Symmons Plains Raceway and that's it and the modder of three tracks of this very short list is gone
I think the Nordschelife can be considered that, even tho it is not exactly from scratch it has been improved and changed so massively that it is basically a new track now
That's it..? You make it sound like we almost don't have any tracks to race on. ISI did a track or two from scratch, didn't they..? Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have even more good tracks to race. However my track library is pretty big these days, and there are plenty of beautiful, fully functioning scratch built tracks, along with ISI's and a bunch of really good conversions.
Yea, i was speaking about third party tracks. I know that we have some good quality conversions like Mid-Ohio and the Ring, but where is Suzuka, Fuji, Monza, Spa, Barcellona, Daytona......it has been almost 3 years and we have really too few high quality tracks made from the scratch in rf2! only 4-5 tracks made from the scratch in almost 3 years is a very very low number and it says a lot about the situation of the modding in rf2 right now.
Bodywork in mirrors is something soo much in my wishlist, along with mirrors resonation. When you build a track you actually specify which objects will be rendered in mirrors, so you add only the major ones and the small details are completely excluded for optimization. It seems that game engine currently only takes location objects into account for mirrors rendering along with exterior models of other vehicles (which i suppose it loads at some LOD even at very close range) so your own bodywork in mirrors currently isnt possible even when you are modding your own vehicles.
Nothing wrong with conversions. They just have to be cared a bit for. All of the tracks you meantioned above, I've got... Most of them have something which has been neglected. Mostly it's the road-mesh which hasn't been cared enough for, where you get the wash-board feeling way too often due to too few faces/polygons. Other than that, there is nothing wrong with conversion. Nothing.
BB that chicane after the tunnel is insane in your execution :-D EDIT: also i believe you are driving it with seat unneccasrly low, his eye line was just above the plexi glass http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-2fc8nun9jOM/TpnV52yBuLI/AAAAAAAAD5s/t_QDDJgTKeY/s1600/mclaren-mp4-4.jpg
Well here is my latest creation. I've wanted to do a slow motion video for a very long time. I really hope you guys like, don't be too harsh....
I was going to cut it, but it made me chuckle. There still seems to be some...... jittering.... at certain points. Only appears on Youtube
rF2 is strange to record. It seems my hard drive can't keep up when recording in 720 so I get stutters. In 360 it keeps up. I don't know. shrug.
