    They should look into the rF2 car reflection. Some car bodies looks like made of cardboard, very matte. I know there's the alpha mask thing but still... not realistic.

    Do you even follow real racing? Race cars don't shine like dog's balls. ;)

    You just want rF2 to look like assetto corsa/pcars. That's it. And the only reason why they look like that is because it looks fancy, flashy, people assume sth is more advanced and prettier when it shines like the example I gave above.

    Thing is that for cars to feel/look natural most of the time you need ultra advanced shaders, lighting system and reflection system that supports not only sharp reflections, blurred ones.

    Or... you need raytracing. Which won't be possible for at least next 5 years. My guess would be anytime between 6 and 8 years from getting real time or somewhat real time ray tracing in sims, let alone games. Then you will have lighting, shading, reflections as close to the real thing, in real time, as possible.

    I never checked the animal's parts to see if they're as diffuse an unlike real cars as you want them to be, but I know ecar is correct and it doesn't have to be as complicated as you make it seem.

    Edit: to use one game name for visuals, one might as well use Gran Turismo instead.

    the car and iracing tracks don't shine and it looks more realistic than rf2 (in TV cam) sorry...

    Yeah, I 'm not asking for fake shining, but correct reflections. Look the amount of grey variations at Porsche's rear in top picture and then compare to rF2 picture below... it's almost flat.

    And please... no "but rF2 physics are better", I know that. It's great.

    There is also a problem with reflections getting matt at certain angles. The Heusinkveld Corvette shot exhibits this quiet well. The middle of the bonnet is reflective, where the part that is affected by light even more gets matt near the left headlight. Not sure if it is caused by lower reflection settings though. I have the environment reflections at low and it looks like that in the showroom aswell at certain angles.

    I don't like the cars too much glossy but I'm agree with @ECAR_Tracks about some skins have a too "flat" colour, primary at BMW.

    Dust and rubber, almost on windshield for cockpit view along race, could be a great feature for race inmersion:

    If you would brighten up the rf2 image there would be more detail in color-variations as well. It is just the way HDR produces the image in these circumstances? Also materials could be setup differently, I guess.

    I believe there is still some visual power to gain from the engine without compromising to much for all other times of day. Fingers crossed that S397 will find the sweetspot sometime in the future.
