Hey everyone!

The idea that crossed my mind recently. I decided to go back to rF2 modding some time after the surprise release were made by the devs with the Zolder Circuit (made by @Frederick Alonso) finally in game. I was not able to deliver any content this Summer due to personal reasons and I feel bad that such a nice release were not followed by some nice new cars to have double fun - driving something new on some new circuit.

Remember the S397 era? Every content drop with one track, 2-3 cars, it felt like unwrapping a gift on Christmas morning. Each release opened up entirely new dimensions of possibility, and that first in-game test drive was pure magic. So why aren't we recreating that feeling ourselves? I'm putting out a call to all creators: let's stop releasing in isolation. Let's collaborate, coordinate our releases, and bring back that sense of anticipation and excitement this community deserves.

I'd like to encourage other creators to cooperate and release stuff together. Personally I'm ready to contribute by doing 1-2 cars for each pack and I would be happy to help your new release with more hype and promotion from my side.

I can confirm now that for the first DLC Pack (which will be distributed for free in the Steam Workshop) I will release:
- Mini Cooper Challenge JCW (F56)
- Dallara SF19 (SuperFormula series car)

I will work on this release together with my teammates and @Frederick Alonso to bring these cars in great shape with enjoyable physics.

The idea is to release all content in one day and promote it properly before and after the release.
Also I will host online servers with the new content so everyone could join and have fun with the new stuff.

Let me know guys if you're interesting to join the next pack release! Even if you're working on some skin pack or small update of your content I will help spread the news as much as possible. We have a private Discord channel where we helping each other to work on content so you'll be invited after we agreed on the release.

Share your thoughts in this topic :)

If time is on my side, I will continue on the other cars we had in mind ;-)
(3D-wise)

Really liked the idea of community work as I also was begging for months for it.
If we help each other, we can deliver S397 qualities that people will enjoy for years.
I really encourage others to do the same.

Collaboration is also better because more eyes will find issues or any shortcomings eventually.
We can also test together before releasing anything.

Beyond my DLC track work, I've developed a private 98% realistic Michelin slick tire model, the result of three months of intensive collaboration with a 2025 championship-winning race team. This candidate represents a genuine advancement for the modding community, built through meticulous reverse engineering: cross-referencing every line of the TGM/TBC files against real Motec telemetry data and the Motec rF2 data. If the same drivers pull together the same tire temps, pressures, and grip levels on each track. I dare to say we have reached something huge for our beloved simulations.

While I won't be distributing the tire model itself (sorry), I've established a comprehensive methodology for tire behavior simulation. I can demonstrate the precise correlations between tire pressure, grip levels, and temperature evolution across hour-long stint data, essentially providing a validated blueprint for what authentic tire physics should look like in telemetry and what many mods and tires have wrong now. I also made a Python script to run over a few tgm files, so you can see the curves as they behave in sim.

This is stuff I would love to share over the private server soon.

rF2 is not dead. Far from. Wait and see in a year.
Smart YouTube channels should be ahead of the curve.

Great idea guys, though some of us can only morally support you.
My dream about rF2 is some of you guys in the scene developing a community branch of the Sim itself as a "certified" and authorized party by the Studio. Like some Linux distros where community and corporate distros intertwining and retrofitting each other. Hey, a man can dream :p

Hello everyone,

It's really nice to read this. :) I can only agree 100%. I'm not a big expert, but I have done a few paint jobs myself. Unfortunately, I don't have enough time for my hobby. Between family and work, there's not much time left for rF2. But I'm with you in spirit, and I get as excited as a little kid at Christmas ;) when something new for rF2 comes out. I can only say thank you again and again to everyone who puts their time and love into making dreams come true and keeping rFactor2 alive......

and yes, rFactor2 is alive
...... thanks to people like you.

Thank you.

I'm thrilled with this news!
Our small group, "SimRacing Greece," dedicated to serious simulation—and currently, and still, the most serious simulation is rfactor 2—is ready to help in any way we can with this team project.
We can set up permanent 24-hour servers for testing if needed.
We can help with car paint jobs.
And, of course, we'll try to help financially.

I can't really add any technical expertise but I support and applaud your efforts. Maybe someday I could provide feedback on a mod :)

We're interested, as always. We have existing content deserving of review (2012 GT3), existing content that could use another pass and that has unreleased cars, that could use help getting ingame (1970 + Matra), and we're still trying to build a properly realistic Sauber C9 - so that script for tires would be welcome too.

Add me to the camp of wanting to try the tire scripts/tool. Anything to make tires easier. Aero is more of a PITA thing for me, but tires are very close behind.

I have a passion project of getting a Deltawing/Nissan ZEOD in game. I plan on doing some fun stuff with it once I get it working in game. I'm having a heck of a time of getting the tires to work. The AI TBC works good, the player TGM, not so much.

The more tools to make the physics easier the better.

The Deltawing is definitely an interesting car to drive if it's well done, due to its original architecture.

I saw it at Le Mans at the time, and its originality made me want to support it.

You want to plan something with relevance.
BTCC needs new cars for 2026 and a few circuits

Bitza ! :p

It actually makes me laugh that S397 had the licence. Fumbled it through incompetence of Motorsport games, lost it, gained it back with the agreement theyd update the cars and provide the latest liveries of the seasons of 2024,2025,2026 (this agreement being taken on after the launch of LMU) then just dont bother doing anything. If theres anything ive learnt from being a btcc and sim racing fan is that once you lose the faith of series director Alan Gow/TOCA thats it you dont exist in their eyes.

Well four circuits need scratch.
Audi S4 not sure of others.
Then full skin set.
Golden opportunity for mod team.
I will pay now lol

Yeah but it's the best BTCC to drive by a mile.

It is i agree 100% (mainly because most others out there are illegal conversions of the rf2 cars to AC with physics and sounds stolen from other mods) with that but its just mega frustrating as a huge btcc fan that the ball got dropped so badly.

I’m working on the definitive season pack for the FVR Supercars mod - 2021 season will be the first release. Includes a new file format which supports race specific skins and race specific talent files without the need for packages - it will be a single rfcmp. Also planning to do 2022, 2023 and 2024 seasons - and eventually 2012-2020 seasons.

Back when we were modding GTR2, it got sooooo insufferable that an endurance sim with long long pitstops and a limited set of tracks, was always begged for either F1 mods or V8 Supercars mods.
But rF2 is another story. It was MADE for variety. Do 2021...and do it well. Use that as a foundation, then when you have totally completed & debugged the mod, move on to the other seasons.
Great news!
