    Ok,
    I have done the following.
    I loaded this car all the way to the test track but the temp box car was visible. so i set off the do the gmt conversion from rFactor 1 to 2.

    I made these GMT files,
    car_body.gmt
    car_cockpit.gmt
    car_LF_TIRE.gmt
    car_LR_TIRE.gmt
    car_RF_TIRE.gmt
    car_RR_TIRE.gmt
    I made the car_spinner.gen and all loads as expected.

    I made the car.gen and CTD every time.
    I have tried using all the files from the rTrainer and my graphics and still CTD.

    So I am thinking something I have done in the GMT files is causing the problem.
    The trace file looks like this
    vehsound.cpp 871: adding mas files = 0.001
    vehsound.cpp 899: creating sounds = 0.639
    vehsound.cpp 924: deleting mas files = 0.000
    slot.cpp 539: Vehicle C:\PROGRAM FILES\RFACTOR2DATA\MODDEV\VEHICLES\GOATSERIES\TEAMS\GOES_04.VEH:
    slot.cpp 540: CollisionBodyChecksum=-470518080

    How do I go about looking for the error.
    I have gone line by line thru the
    HDV
    TBC
    TGM
    ENGINE
    GEARS

    What do I look at now?

    Thanks for the responses.

    Have you included a TGM?

    I tried GoatSeries_04.veh and then I thought I would follow the naming convention that the rtrainer used. It looked to me that they used the first 2 and last 2 letters of the mod dir name for the veh file name.

    Yes, I grabbed the rtrainer tires and rtrainer tgm file. I renamed them and changed both TGM = lines to my new tire file names.

    Make sure you have the correct paths in the veh. First time i was importing i didn't put the directory in like the rtrainer is and just did it like rf1 without the directory for the 2 gens, and the hdv. And it CTD on me. Filling in those directories like the rtrainer veh did the trick.

    Here is more data,
    I copied the following files to my GoatSeries directory.

    rtrainer.mas
    rtrainer.gen
    rtrainer_spinner.gen

    I changed my veh file in the following way
    ...
    DefaultLivery="rtrainer_01.dds"

    HDVehicle=GoatSeries\car.hdv
    Graphics=GoatSeries\rtrainer.gen
    Spinner=GoatSeries\rtrainer_Spinner.gen
    GenString=
    ...

    And the rtrainer loaded fine and used all my files that the hdv points to. So this has me convinced that the graphics portion is my problem. Does everyone agree?

    Again thanks for all the suggestions.

    More Info,

    I removed the lines from the rtrainer.gen referencing the body and replaced with the body I created
    My body loaded!
    I removed the lines from the rtrainer.gen referencing the cockpit and replaced with the cockpit I created
    My Cockpit Loaded!!!!
    I removed the lines from the rtrainer.gen referencing the tires and replaced with the tires I created
    And CTD.

    I have narrowed my problem to the tires.

    Now i will work on this and see if I can figure out why.

    While I am somewhat a noob to the 3dsmax world. I have over 20 years of cad experience, but this seems so foreign for some reason. So I am starting to get really frustrated.

    I have created a tire, added materials, added uvw, created the gmt file and put in the spinner file. I load in show room and all that shows is the shadow.

    Any Idea what I should look for?

    Really frustrated

    I ended up using the provided tires from the tutorial. But I would really like to understand why mine didn't work.
