CMS & Storm Gang Simulation present the upcoming car mods for rFactor 2. Featuring Hypercars and GT3 for the 2022 World Sports Car championship.

For 2022, our flagship series will be the Storm Gang Simulation WSC 2022 mod featuring Hypercars and GT classes, modeled as closely to real-world specifications as is possible from open-source materials. A ‘smart BOP’ combination of official Studio 397 content and 15 SGS cars developed in-house with a wide network of support from the rF2 modding community, the mod provides an unequaled opportunity to match sim racing to developments in real-world racing.

Just found this would be great if the new mods would be available to all. Hope they do be a shame not to bring to general public paid or free. Lets hope.

Dont think those cars will be public.
From earlier races where custom cars was made, they were not made public afterwards.
Its a shame that these leagues/series use much effort in producing these and then only uses them internally for a limited time.

The Hillclimp championship does the same.

Maybe its about use of content without licensing rights, or in a grey area in between?

I do get they cant sell it due to manufacture licensing but I would happily donate if they they choosed to release some of it.

We provided SGS with the Acura NSX and we believe once the mod has finished development and balancing, it will be made public. As far as we know, the hypercar builds are very early betas and only one test race has taken place, so it's probably going to take a few more months.

Thanks for the comments and information.

Apex is correct (and thank you again for the NSX and all your help on the mod and what you do for this community). We currently have a contract with CMS for exclusivity for the first year of the WSC 2022 and 1991 mods. It also gets slightly more complicated because their partner leagues also show interest in the content and ask for arrangements which can also become exclusive. But the primary reason is that we have certain assets that were acquired by other modders and groups that haven't given explicit permission to release them publicly. For example, Mak Corp is defunct making it very difficult to get permission to release. We also plan to do some pretty exciting things with the existing mods going into next year.

All that said, we do have some other projects we are starting which we plan to make public after a short, private league running, using original assets.

Short update regarding the current 2022 sportscar mods. There will be a transition from the current hypercars going into next year which means the cars that are currently included in the pack will evolve into a new mod, separate from the WSC 2022 mod it's in now. That new mod will undergo a semi-open beta as it runs in a CMS series for a short season. This beta/series will help to collect data and evaluate the Smart BoP applied before full release to the workshop. Look for this new pack sometime in Q1 or possibly Q2 of 2023.

Edit: We are currently working on a brand new, completely in-house scratch made mod which should be premiering Q3 or Q4 depending on timing with a few things. This mod will run a short exclusive shakedown series in CMS, then be released fully to the workshop for all to enjoy. We're REALLY excited about this one and think you'll have a lot of fun with it.
