Any progress on Montjuic? The current version is great but would really be improved if public road traffic lines where on the track. To me, that is the main thing missing. Any plans to add them? Thanks for your work philrob!

    wrff.tiger,
i have not looked at Montjuich since the last release. However your message prompted me to take another look and update some things that have changed in RF2 since last release.
    TDF changes
    lots of specular changes
    small adjusts to reflect maps
    some texture reworks
    haze settings adjusted
    changes to shadows
    new med_rrbin rubber profile
    many lod changes
    added more TSOs
added cbash and rrshd files(aid loading)
    IBL probes finished
further scn/gdb changes reflections, atmosphere etc
added single haybales that now move
    fountain is back
    changes to ipb probes
new wet weather file to reflect average conditions
and lots i have already forgotten. i am continuing work on the textures at the moment.
With regard to road markings i have no intention of adding those, but anybody who wishes to do so please
go ahead. I just wish this great track to have the attention it deserves.
I will release the ver 1.6 in the coming days.

Awesome to hear you are working on it! Just curious why you aren’t interested in adding traffic lines? They would be historically accurate. I know very little about modding. Is it because it would be difficult or you just don’t like the look?

    wrff.tiger,
A couple of reasons, i have no idea where the lines were in 1973 and to just guess at it is as bad as not placing them.
The track uses only a couple of texture variants for the road surface, to add different types of lines would be quite a big job.
But if you can show me where the differences are in photos i may give it a go.

I don't have pictures. But should be enough onboard videos of period footage to give you an idea. Not complaining and I love your work. I wouldn't even no where to begin how to do it. I do think it would make the track much more appealing. To me it is the main thing missing.

Great footage of a fantastic track. It seems like its a single yellow broken line around most of the track, i can probably add that, i will see.
At the moment the sim track has decided it wants to take 5 minutes or more to load ?
So thats what i am trying to resolve.

@philrob you are working with PBR?
I am having problems applying materials on some objects. Load times of the tracks above 10 ' :(

I have finally managed after 1.5 wasted days to get load times back to normal from the 5+ minutes i had.
It was a single texture that i had redrawn and resized it had somehow become 1024x320 how that happened i do not know.
There was no errors on loading or any message in Trace.txt.
    Corti,
yes i am using PBR when i can but not in this case, what are you creating and applying them with?

Photoshop Intel Plugin. But with many doubts. I would like to have a step by step how to create (AOS, MR, NM, ...) from the original DDS texture. I do not know if I need to convert it first to PNG? ... and then as I export to DDS?

It is a great track, thanks for the mod. It is already so much fun as it is. With any more improvement, it would look much nicer!

A race I did few weeks back (to the FOV police, not my actual driving view).

    likes,
nice vid, what did you capture it with?

    Corti,
i also would like instruction on making some of those formats (AOS, MR, NM, ...) i dont think you need PNG though.
Dont forget when saving in Pshop some are Linear.

Good old OBS. Here's the original onboard ultrawide capture, also using OBS at 1440p 10kbps, auto-upscaled by YT to 4k.

Here is ver1.6 of Montjuich, i have a done quite a lot of work on this version, further to the above list, i have:
    removed more(GPL) duplicate faces
    redid start lights
    many more shadows
    track files smaller
    added missing bumps/specs
started isolating models from GPL multimodels
    lods adjusted
many PBR textures and BC format
    more TSOs added
    and more
There is still things to be done, but i have taken it as far as i can at the moment.
    All comments welcome.
