Circuit Zolder is here!

Great job! I wish more modders would create such quality content for rF2, as it had so much potential (as LMU success showed). Seems like most of the best ones like VRC or RSS create mods for AC only. Also it’s very rare to have a licensed, laser scanned track made essentially by a modder. Since it’s not first party mod I expect that buying the Complete pack won’t include this track?

Considering there’s no response, I will take that as no:)
it’s definitely not expensive for what you get anyway, but problem is buying any content if the game is basically dead (I.e. zero development, low player count, especially multiplayer)

Same as anything, don’t buy it unless you’ll use it.

I did enough time and laps on it in the first day to justify the purchase, but I knew I would.

Well, I will give you an example on why you should buy it: Zolder and 992 are now on Race Control as a special event (I believe).
If you do that race, just on whatever practice you do for it, it will be worthwhile and then all will be gravy and absolutely second-to-none-gravy in simracing.

Ok thanks, will consider it as I will have some free time next few days.

Unless the pack has been revised, no. It doesn't act like a season pass either to get new released content.

So rF2 shows the store content Zolder as installed.

But it doesn't show in the tracks list and Search found no Zolder...

Agreed it’s not a season pass , but I asked if buying the Complete Pack would include it, (not if the pack owners will also get it “for free”). Anyway, seems it won’t, at least for now. Again, it’s definitely worth the price cause of the amount of work needed to create it - I just think that new buyers will be surprised the pack doesn’t contain it.

The complete pack description probably needs to be changed, since it only mentions excluding Reiza and Kartsim currently.

late o the party..
3mm!!!!! 3mm!!!!! working on karting tracks at 5mm point cloud resolution track meshes poligon count are huge and calculations complex, 3mm... a full blown race track!!!!! congratulations.
Did you use surface laser scan, lidar or photogrmmetry?

It was laserscanned, and if there is any track height difference, I kept the poly high at those places to make sure each detail is added in.
With the devs, I talked a lot about being a little on the higher side than usual with poly, as it would be sad to lose the details in this great scan. After 7 scan sessions, you can take the overlapping cloud points as they are very accurate data, and then extract them to see a very precise model.

I have not been standing still; the update is almost done, and we will go public soon with it to offer a second tire stack option and a small fix on AIW. Just sad there were so many server issues lately on the official side, nothing to do with the DLC itself.

Have been pushing some more info to the motorlaps.com website. I added a link in the first post here. The banners in DLC also mention this website, as we will have more content soon for all of you

The sales sadly did not go wild. It would help to see more YouTube support as we have more content coming up that can make a difference for players and our beloved sim.

I rendered out new pine trees from a 2gb mesh tree series I made.. Just 3 days of extra work for a billboard I guess :D
As we all know, Zolder might be small but the details are very unique.

Rendered in 16k by 4k and zoomed in on the details I get. Much better then those crappy buy ready assets but expensive for me time wise...

First test in game with just 64 vertices billboards and very crisp normals from the 3D trees.

I think the track sales hasn’t gone wild mostly because rF2 has been abandoned by MSG , modders and eventually most simracers ( as latest Steam user stats show). You could consider releasing the track for AC as paid mod too. Sure, it’s no longer developed by Kunos either , but it has active community driven updates to it’s core as well as graphics etc.
As for YouTubers - nowadays they mostly cover hardware, because that’s where they get most money . As for sims you rarely see them covering older sims , unless they are still updated and popular . One exception I know is Mike for Simracing604 - he often covers mods (usually cars for the original AC) , but he’s not that influential. If someone like Jimmy Broadbent would cover it then it might get significant attention and sales boost, but I’m not sure if he still covers mods.
Also reaching out to Overtake.gg might help.

GPLaps often features content for outdated games. 1/3rd of his recorded pieces (32 by my count) and nearly all his live videos in the past year are on outdated games.

I meant to ask, did you build this track entirely in blender?
Not all things, but many times I was on the road and used my laptop to make assets that I imported later in 3dsmax.
I also have some new-made scripts for Blender 4.5 that I use to set up materials, need to dig later into the gmt exporter that is around here, as I think we can push this way further than what is available now.
