Noticed this at Botniaring Short layout. Seems to happen when AI cars come in sight. Chrome part become black, become chrome, become black...
I have noticed this too yesterday. It is only on Botniaring (every layout). All other tracks, I have tested, are ok.
Yes, the problem exists with Mini 1.01 and 1.05. But I think it has nothing to do with the Mini. It is a problem with this track. When you are sitting in the car (e.g. BMW GT3) and look down to your feet in VR, shadows disappear depending on the angle you are looking. And as I said, the problem does not exists on other tracks.
The The Gauge Rings look like Chrome Material, so if that happens only on that Track, i would check if all 3 Mapper Sections are present in the scn File: ReflectionMapper=REFLECTEDENV ReflectionMapper=STATIC01 ReflectionMapper=REFMAP0 And give all of them at least 1 Object Entry (IncludeIns=...). Maybe that helps.
ok, adding the static01 reflection mapper to the scn-files seem to heal the issue with Mini´chrome parts changing to black. Also confirmation from AFreak that the VR shadow issue is also fixed. I put a patch for testing for alle three layouts to our AIW folder: https://mega.nz/folder/CIIlGQ5C#jmMrO8sfvanSx4D6X8PaLg @Coutie Could this be looked at for an offical patch?
I don't use VR, but you can test it by yourself. Put the Track into the DevMode, add the Entries for the ReflectionMapper=STATIC01 into the SCN File and try it out.
That’s a common issue for static reflection maps configured in material settings and I don’t understand why it’s working like that for so long. I am always using REFMAP01 and don’t have any flickering but the thing surprising me is that most of the studio cars has this issue. Q1 pack LMP3 Ligier is also has this bug after release and you can easily see it even in main menu. Don’t know why it’s not solved yet. Would be really useful for some interior materials not to have reflections from environment, curbs and road surface
