Stumble upon this thread http://www.racedepartment.com/forum/threads/like-your-ffb-strong-think-again.30763/ (posted by Niels_at_home on June 30th, 2011) by coincidence while searching for answer for my dead/undead MOMO problem. And I think it's a quite interesting finding by Niels.

Here's the post (I hope you don't mind Niels):

my note: rFactor 2 has "Steering effects strength" entry in Controller.ini (default to 10000), maybe it's the same setting and has same effect as MaxForce entry in RealFeel.ini?

    Edit: nevermind
Here in plugin section there is one plugin that shows when the forces are clipping. I'm not sure because a can only find the first page without getting lost.

I believe this is the plugin you're talking about: http://isiforums.net/f/showthread.php/7546-rF2-Pedal-Overlay-Plugin

Tried it, and it works really well. However since my MOMO is now dead, can't play around with the FFB settings yet.

So who has found a good FFB setting in RF2?
    I am using the RF2 default CAR-SPECIFIC FFB MULT=1.00 and FFB SMOOTHING=9
My G27 gets some serious kicks out of the RF2 FFB with these settings, so has someone found a good setting that does not break their arm, or the wheel?
I have been using the Pedals-overlay plugin to analyse my FFB and it definitely clips (maxes out) alot when driving on the grass, hitting curbs, or running on very bumpy tracks like the Brianza (Monza 10k) banking!

FFB smoothing is merely a filter that the FFB info passes thru and it cuts the highend forces so that they appear smoother and less violent.

Thanks Taufik. That is the plugin but i Didn't know if it is working with build 134 but when i tryied, in one of previous builds, it worked despite i didn't know what data received means.
Hope Niels could answer few question here in rf2 forum. Niels is also a hardware expert (he is graduated in some kind of engineering) and i like to know what leads him to that conclusions about g27 since his conclusions isn't full of fetails like the rest of his post. Read some where about his working in a pedals set but it is a lot of investment to an average simracer like me and he uses whats look like a custom made g25 steering wheel in his videos on his channel at youtube.

Using the overlay plugin, I have settled on 107% in Windows settings, 8 for the filter and between .65 and .75 FFB strength in game (In game FFB strength varies between .65 and .75 dependant on the car. Some seem to have stronger FFB than others). Very detailed, very little clipping.

It won't make you a better driver but it could make the cars easier to drive.

I have different profiles for cars, lot more then 65-75% variation though....... you could almost use 10% for different tyre and suspension.

Of course it could make you a better driver some people have forces set so high they lose minute feel.

I have settled on the following for my G27:

    STRONG FFB:
    CAR-SPECIFIC FFB MULT=1.00 and FFB SMOOTHING=9.

    MEDIUM FFB:
    CAR-SPECIFIC FFB MULT=0.9 and FFB SMOOTHING=18.

    WEAK FFB:
    CAR-SPECIFIC FFB MULT=0.80 and FFB SMOOTHING=20.

I ran the Brabham through Brianza and Monaco felt the natural FFB of the road, curbs and sudden impacts.

Interesting thing is that the FFB SMOOTHING runs from 0-32, so I first tried increments of 8, and then increments of 4.

And how does this plugin show clipping of the FFB? There are three bars, one for positive acceleration, one for negative and one for side acceleration.

It should be the opposite, because all fanatec wheels limit the maximum FFB when changed on wheel (not by scaling):

So for Fanatec wheels setting FFB on wheel to 100% and lower in game FFB should give more linear and therefore better results.

    Wrong.

    This plugin has 4 bars:

    Clutch
    Brake
    Accelerator
    FFB

Clipping would occur when the FFB bar maxes out...

Use 100% ffb in your profiler. Adjust the car specific ffb mult.

Can someone here or some from ISI let me know if the ffb smoothing number is set to 4 by design for my csr-elite or if it's just the default setting please? Thanks
