[REL] CHANG INTERNATIONAL CIRCUIT

The Other Team

Registered
The Other Team is introducing a new rFactor2 track from an assetto corsa conversion (Great thanks to Mitja BONCA who give us the permission).

History :
The Buriram International Circuit (known as Chang International Circuit for commercial purposes, but listed by its non-commercial name because of alcohol restrictions in some countries) is a motorsport race track in Buriram, Buriram Province, Thailand. The circuit was opened in 2014. This is the first FIA Grade 1 and FIM Grade A circuit in Thailand. The track's primary corporate sponsor is Chang Beer, named the track as part of the sponsorship; however, because of laws regarding alochol sponsorship in France and Qatar, the circuit uses the non-commercial name in FIM documentation.

Looking forward to these two beautiful tracks and glad rF2 has one more modding group! :) Can you tell us when we can expect them to test ;)?
Are you guys maybe also working on a conversion of the AC Donington mod version?

great job superb look of the track

the last famous asian track for Super GT WTCC Asian LMS TCR series (also bikes WSBK & Mgp)

It's a Tilke track, but the corner layout is actually that of a proper circuit for once. I just wish it didn't have all that paved runoff.

I'm looking forward to the release.

Unfortunately, science had told the FIA that tarmac is more effective at slowing cars down than gravel or grass.

What is the problem with paved runoffs? Aesthetics?

Think people hate them because it used to be if you made a mistake you were in the gravel and potentially stuck. Now if they spin off they get back on the track.

To be fair though, if you spin off you knacker your tyres.

Perhaps it does better than gravel in some instances, but it certainly does not in the rain. The worst problem is the track limits abuse it enables. All the drivers do their best to cheat just enough to not get penalized. It's become a part of race strategy now. And if there's enough runoff it can even be grass. VIR is all grass off the track, but the walls are far away. It punishes mistakes and cutting, but it's safe.
