If you are looking to upgrade your steering wheel to a Direct drive wheel and don't want to spend over a £1000 this could be the answer links to information are in the video description ( and yes my desk needs bracing lol ) all credit goes Craig Hoffmann the developer of the controller board
I think the AccuForce shows that a less costly Stepper-Motor is capable of producing some very good FFB although, the motor for it is custom-built to spec and the software is way beyond anything else on the market. Still, it would be interesting to see just what a common motor combined with this hardware could do. If lower-cost DD wheels are made (non-DIY), it seems likely that they would utilize stepper-motors to fill a gap between Fanatec's current CSW and the OSW's / AF and I imagine the Fanatec DD system will use such a motor as well.
Yeah the one in the video is the one I've built using Craig's controller and his build guide it's an upgrade from my g27 hence using the g27 rim ( got 320mm suede rim, just got to make the QR for it now ) but man it's so much stronger in every way !!!
if your going premium my advice go servo as opposed to stepper, sub £1000 servo system here : https://sim-pli.city/collections/all/products/sw20-20nm-direct-drive-wheel PS -not knocking stepper systems
Yeah nice setup however this only costs around £350 and is only 13nm so really aimed at someone on a smaller budget.
