Champion Motorsports would like to present you our new Virtual World Sportscar Championship (VWSC) enter its inaugural season!

If your heart beats for Sportscar Racing popularized by WEC & IMSA, yet you are confounded with the lack of virtual representation in any sim as close to reality as it gets – meaning Multiclass Races, live weather conditions, day/night cycles and a calendar that truly follows almost religiously the crown jewel events of WEC & IMSA in a shortened format adapted for beginners and veterans alike you belong exactly right here!

This series is based on 2 classes: LMP2 & GTE.

GTE is based on UnitedRacingDesign's latest version of the EGT mod, but now providing all DX11 features. The URD's Ford GT is added along with the new Ferrari 488 and BMW M6 all with the latest tire model of rFactor2 embedded in a completely reworked version thanks to Simracing United. ALL 7 GTE cars (!!!) are balanced and capable of winning (different driving styles). There are further improvements like a wider seat range for those driving in VR mode, adjustment of fuel consumption, brighter headlights, and other things.

LMP2 is based on Studio 397’s popular and successful LMP2 Oreca.

10 championship races of variable lengths all over the world, live weather, and a test race to let us test all things and procedures. Allowed driving aids should offer the best conditions to newcomers and old timers to great battles on track and hopefully build upon those off track with the great community of Champion Motorsports.

A mid-summer favorite, The VWSC Road America was one of the largest racing events of VWSC featuring 30 cars competing in several classes. The race was mainly smooth run although fuel savings for both LMP and GTE classes proved detrimental for success. The Championship moves next to Europe for the 60 Mins of Spa where the winners will try to capitalize their advantage and the losers to make up some ground in points.

Fourth round of the Virtual World Sportscar Championship on August 8th, 2020 on 2 PM US EST|18:00 GMT.

A VERY hot Spa was the VWSC Round 4 with once again a growing grid of 35 cars competing in several classes. The race had incidents and some spectacular high speed accidents as fuel savings and keeping the engine temps cool was detrimental for both LMP and GTE classes success! After a late call from IMSA to swap the 6 Hours of The Glen with Road Atlanta the Championship will move next to Georgia, USA for the 60 Mins of Road Atlanta where it can be proven a good "sprint flavour" of what's about to happen later in the season at Petite Le Mans.

Fifth round of the Virtual World Sportscar Championship on August 29th, 2020 on 2 PM US EST|18:00 GMT.

    Michelin could hope for no better marketing than last fortnight's Road Atlanta Grand Prix. Corvette’s Yassin Marzoug #2 team needed a lot of things to go their way to win the race, from driving in the heat to particularly heavy attrition among all the contenders, but more than anything else, his and Jason Whited’s in LMP2 triumph would not have been possible if not for just plainly avoiding carnage;

That last 10 mins was indicative of the entire 50 mins run of the traffic jammed race, which never really got going the way it was supposed to. Marred by repeated offs, many spins of LMP cars, and excessive aggression from some of the GT cars, the race delivered unexpected outcomes.

The Championship will now move next to France for the blue ribband event, the 2.4 Hours of Le Mans in unprecedented times and conditions since the event has never been run in September since its inception. What's about to happen at Le Mans is anyone's guess at this point.

Sixth round of the Virtual World Sportscar Championship on September 12th, 2020 on 2 PM US EST|18:00 GMT.

A race that was meant to be. Rain was promised, but it never came. Yet, the 100 mins of Road Atlanta delivered (As always) incidents, accidents and grueling battles that will last all the way to the flag. But racing can be a cruel, cruel sport and for some, this year’s edition was a race to forget.

Colin Moore capitalized on Jason Whited’s HW problems and led till the finish after the latter’s retirement. In GTE-Pro, Cameron Sansano, Marouane el Idrissi and Yassin Marzoug all encountered problems (with Sansano retiring) letting Jon Uyan get his maiden victory with Jerry Chen in 2nd after surviving an almost 60 min fight with George Angelidis. Angelidis’ tyres would fell off allowing Marouane and Yassin to do damage limitations to their Championships.

From East Coast to West Coast the Championship moves over to Laguna Seca for the last “sprint round” of the Championship…

Eighth round of the Virtual World Sportscar Championship on October 24th, 2020 on 2 PM US EST|18:00 GMT.

29 drivers (11 LMP and 18 GTE) took the green flag at another hot Laguna Seca Race. While the track is one of the toughest to facilitate multiclass racing, overall field behaved well.

In LMP2, newcomer Wouter de Bruijn had a colossal fight all the way to the checkered flag with Colin Moore, overcoming him and getting his first win in hist first race. In third, was Brian Hall equaling his best ever finish capitalizing at a recovering Streppone and an absent Jason Whited due to restrictions prohibiting him entering the track… ByKolles Racing now extends the lead leaving very small chances for SimHQ Motorsports to catch up. LMPC honours went to also newcomer Johnny Humes beating his opponents by laps as they encountered problems. Bob Roberson managed to outscore rival Tom Mountjoy getting vital points and increasing his lead to the Championship.

The GTE Pro class had its fair share of drama as always, with a mere 3s separating winner Yassin Marzoug from Cameron Sansano. Jon Uyan and Jerry Chen were “gifted” 3rd and 4th place respectively after a charging Angelidis was hit by a lapped car. His teammate, Marouane el Idrissi was also taken out by an LMP2 car early in the race tumbling their team’s hopes of a Championship… Unlike his brother, Iman el Idrissi saw himself to the top step of the podium in the GTE Am class for the first time, with “ruthless” Ross Smith and Aston’s “maestro” Matt Buice having a cracking battle the last quarter of the race not separating more than 3 seconds apart! Snake Eyes Racing extends the lead to the Rothmans Fords due to an absent Tom Nasella while Trash Panda Aston Martin is closing on Rothmans as well…

From the sun of California, the Championship moves over to the sun of Florida for the 1.2 Hours of Sebring, which will include darkness at the tail end as well…

Ninth and penultimate round of the Virtual World Sportscar Championship on November 7th, 2020 on 2 PM US EST|19:00 GMT.

After rain arrived for the first time at the VWSC 1.2 Hrs of Sebring, that produced some nail-biting racing and a share of randomness due to on the fly strategies…the Championship is heading to a spectacular finale with all those dreams and hopes for a World Championship... It looks to be a warm and pleasant late afternoon at Bahrain. With several series standings still in doubt, pilots and pitcrews will be ready to give their utmost on this, the final race of the season, while at the same time saying their last farewells to the outgoing LMP class giving way to next Year's Le Mans Hypercar...

Tenth and final round of the Virtual World Sportscar Championship on December 5th, 2020 on 2 PM US EST|19:00 GMT.
