As we approach the half way stage in the series Round 2 saw a lot of change in the drivers standings with Pitlanes.com Luke Ridgway and CFEG Premium's Dave Boon being caught in a incident in turn 1. We now turn our attention to Oulton Park - Fosters layout a fast track with plenty of opportunities for overtaking should ensure the battles to be close. Round 3 @ Oulton Park - Fosters - Summary

    chrome_2017-09-08_21-46-50.png

After a low turn out Oulton Park delivered some surprises, with qualifying separating the top 6 with less than a second showed us that it was going to be a close race. With Johan Cuadrado winning pole and leading from start to finish showed that the battle was not going to be for the lead. With 2 unexpected DNF's from Dave Boon and Dan Lee opened up the grid for some close battles between David Plummer and Steve Serpant. Unfortunately Steves tyres were to worn to wage a full race battle that saw him dropping off near the end of the race. Thanks to all for taking part see you on the next race!

    Round 4 @ Brands Hatch - GP - 22/9/17

    brands.jpg

With the Series now well underway the rewards are paying dividend to our Series leader Johan Cuadrado having won the last 2 rounds. He sits at the top of the drivers championship with a 16 point lead. Round 4 brings us to Brands Hatch, we will be using the GP layout giving us the extra tarmac to really let the Radicals loose!.

    Round 4 @ Brands Hatch - GP - Summary

Round 4 saw us visit Brands Hatch a firm favorite in the racing calendar, the round had action of a different kind in that it was driving penalties that cost our raining champion Johan Cuadrado getting 2 drive through penalties for infringement of track limits. This allowed Mark Robinson to take a comfortable chequered flag for his first victory in the series. Turning our attention to the drivers standings Johan Cuadrado still holding the number 1 spot at the top with a 10 point lead over our 2nd place driver in the race Steve Serpant. With Dan Lee struggling to find the pace in qualifying and himself getting 2 drive through penalties saw him finish last.

    Round 5 @ Snetterton 300 - Summary

Round 5 took us to Norwich to visit the Snetterton track, with the field dwindling in numbers many though this would dull down the racing but we were wrong. Having taken his first pole in the series Steve Serpant of Black Serpant Racing by half a second from Mark Robinson showed that the racing was still going to be close. After a poor start though Mark Robinson took the lead and lead for 11 laps before Steve took the lead and took his first victory of the series. Mean while the rest of the field were battling for a podium finish, Lee Blackmore, Dan Lee and David Plummer were all fighting for position through out the race. With Dan Lee having held P3 for a large portion of the race saw a few mistakes cost him the spot to David Plummer whilst Lee Blackmore took P5. With Steves P1 finish gave him enough points to take the top spot in the drivers championship with only 1 more race to go he can still be caught with the pressure now on Mark Robinson to catch him!.

    Round 6 @ Silverstone National - Summary

What a race!! with the championship up for grabs it was down to the last race of the season to decide our winner. With Mark Robinson challenging for the top spot with Steve Serpant, the 2 drivers have been closely matched all season and with Mark needing Steve to finish low in the standings he had his work cut out for him. Mark made the best start he could by securing the pole but after a slow start off the line which saw him in P3 it wasn't the best start to the race. Unfortunately this continued in the race with a spin after pushing to hard to pass Lee Blackmore saw Mark drop for a short while to P5. With the return of Martin Brandon to the series saw himself battling the whole race with David Plummer both drivers having a very close battle. Martin was able to drive consistency and defensively and took the P2 slot after both Mark Robinson and Lee Blackmore retire due to engine failure. This saw Steve take the win and secure his title win. I would like to thank all the drivers for taking part in the series, the racing has been very close and clean and provided some very close battles. With this in mind we will be looking to hold another similar series soon stay tuned for more details.
