Cars in pitlane are moved back to the grid.

    Hi!

    In our league we have a rule that requires having set at least 30 laps prior to a race.
    Those who haven't set that minimum number of laps are penalized starting from the pitlane.

    So far, the procedure we have been using is that those drivers enter the pitlane during the formation lap. For the latest years this hasn't caused any problems.

    However, in the last two races we have held, those drivers that entered the pitlane have been moved back to the starting grid!!!

    The first time we thought it was an isolated error. However, after two consecutive races with the same problem, we have started to think that something has changed. I can say that these two races are the first official races we have used Build 1108.

    Has anything changed in Build 1108 with respect to this?

    Are you running knockout qual plugin?

    No that I know. Is it activated by default? I have never actually done anything regarding this plugin.
    I know how to activate/deactivate in single player mode. But I am nlt so sure for online. Should I remove the dll from the bin64 plugin folder to make sure? It is the method I always use for normal 3rd party plugins.

    You need to go into the CustomPluginVariables.JSON located in UserData/player and set KnockoutQualifying to Enabled "0", (if it's not already)

    I just made a quick test:
    Setup a server with B1098.
    Race start type set to formation/standing.
    Go directly to race.
    Drive the first lap and get into the pits.
    Since there are no other drivers, race start countdown starts immediately after crossing the pitlane entry line. The pitlane exit lights turn green right after the countdown ends.

    I have repeated the experience but this time with a fresh installed B1108 server.
    When I enter the pits in the formation lap nothing happens. The pitlane exit lights remain red. After several minutes waiting the race does not start.

    I can confirm that in the races where the explained problems happened it took quite a long time before it moved the drivers from the pitlane back to the grid.

    The problem seems to be 99% build related.

    Just to add some information, it is a standing start ?

    So formation laps, driver stop at their grid and then countdown and greenflag ?

    I think normal procedure for pitlane start is you don't do the formation lap. We've always done it that way. I know that's not a fix :(

    We will have to use this method in tonight's race.

    Can anybody confirm when does a driver that starts from the pitlane have to press the race button? After the formation lap starts?

    I would like to provide clear instructions to the affected drivers so that they don't mess up.

    However, as you say this is a workaround but not a solution. I understand that you are allowed to enter pits in the formation lap without being transferred back to the grid. It has been like that until presumably latest build 1108.

    Never done in rF2 but back in rF1 and most isi2.0 games you wait the formation lap begin and press drive to start from pits. You can also hit Esc during the formation lap to start from pits (usefull if you crash in formation lap, happens to all of us :oops:), I don't think this was changed in rF2 at all
    Just take care to not cross the line at the pit exit, these isi codes have no common sense, they DQ instantly instead of give people a few seconds to go back behind the line. That's something I hope @Marcel Offermans will change rather sooner than later, mandatory headlights give you a few seconds before DQ, should be the same for this situation, it's no fun when someone is DQed for a small mistake like this before the race even starts

    OK I can confirm this with 1098 I'm not teleported to the grid, I'm allowed to start from pitlane.

    I would like to bump up this thread considering we are close to the end of Q1 and a new build will be coming out by then.

    In yesterday's race it had been raining all day and it stopped in the qualy session.

    Although it was not full dry I wanted to change tires in the formation lap to avoid losing more time with a regular stop.

    The pit option was not available and I was teletransported back to the grid. I had forgotten about the issue which typically only applies us for people starting from the pitlane.

    It is quite urgent to solve this issue which is having more relevance than expected. Recently a hotfix was applied for NOLA but this item which was introduced with latest build remains unsolved.
