Hi, a new toy is added.
Welcome to the Hungaroring !
(Stay away from curbs btw )
i have found on workshop that s the size has decreased ??
is it normal
What do you mean?
The size of the mod? With more tracks released, i doubt it would be normal lol
Hmm I think Jepeto might be on to something. The Steam page says 356MB. Is that right? I thought it was over a GB now?
I'll check this today.
Hi, i've check the mod and seems working.
But you are right, the size shown in steam is about 356Mb.
I guess it's the size of the last update and not the whole mod.
Didn't see any other explanations.
If someone have an idea...
maybe is update size.
full package 4.5Gb
Not trying to hijack this thread but which F1 mod is recommended? Steam has the following:
F1 1986 and 1988 Championship Edition
F1 1986 Simracers Edition
Formula 1 Season 1986 Version 0.97
F1 1986 Historical Edition Cars - Beta
Yeh it can be a bit confusing with so many versions. Each one owes itself to the last in a significant way. In chronological order:
Formula 1 Season 1986 Version 0.97 - Last updated 20 Jul, 2019
Created by ChiefWiggum and Postipate - Contains all Cars and tracks from the 1986 season. Most cars use the same physics (Williams) however, some (Lotus, BMW's, Ferrari, have their own physics but these are only minor aero and engine differences, rather that fully different vehicles. All engines have their own sounds. The models from this version were rescaled to be larger in later versions because they were too small in this version.
F1 1986 Simracers Edition - Last updated 25 Mar, 2020
Created by ChiefWiggum and Postipate - Contains all cars from the 1986 season. League racing version - All cars use same physics based on the Lotus 98T. All engines have their own sounds. Properly scaled models.
F1 1986 and 1988 Championship Edition - Last Updated 4 Sep, 2020
A compilation created by Trollray of the '86 Simracers Edition (above) and 1988 season cars and tracks from Carrera4, Senormen and Philrob. Trollray has made various updates to the Ai, tracks (updated to IBL and texture update), and there are some minor physics differences between vehicles.
F1 1986 Historical Edition Cars - Beta - Last Updated 19 Dec, 2021
This pack only has a single vehicle sample for the moment, however progress in ongoing. Trollray has completed the graphical updates for all cars to the new RF2 IBL and PBR shaders. I am currently working on the physics and sounds. This pack will have every car and driver, with it's own completely independent physics and sounds. This is not suitable for racing an entire grid (yet) but you can expect to here some news soon.
F1 1986 Historic Edition Tracks - Beta - Last Updated 11 May, 2022
Trollray's huge graphical updates for the track pack with all the latest RF2 shaders like IBL, PBR, puddles and reflection ect. Currently contains 12/16 tracks from the season. Work is ongoing at a good pace. Brands is the only track with a different layout that the actual '86 season but this will be remedied following the completion of the rest of the graphical updates.
Hi, nice resume from @doddynco
To be more complete, championnship edition was made by me to make a plug and play version with different ai behavior and so on.
The work done was in a sort of nearly historical but with lots of things still to learn.
Now, the historical edition (tracks and cars separately released) is the far better version of the championsip that we will be proud to deliver as soon as possible Doddy and i.
Then, the word Historical will make complete sense
And another great news, the next track is released !
It's a version originlay cverted by @senormen.
Now, i've put my work with pbr shaders, some new textures, cameras, aiw and all wet effects.
It's a track where you will find good fresh oxygen... I don't give more clues
I forgot to mention some technical help from @svictor for this track.
You guys ate all unbelievable!
This is by far THE project in rF2.
Can't wait to see this on latest shader.
For the latest track in the Alps ;-) there is the blue ground inside the turn "icy" no grip - material setting I think. Great work otherwise - few pop ups from banners in distance - (trackdetail high). a big THX
there are no reflections of the Spielberg track in the car body
otherwise the track is great especially in rainy weather
Zeltweg has a lot of pop up of the billboards with medium details (I am in VR, so I have to keep it at that level for heavier tracks).
Outside of that, if possible, I believe that the track would greatly benefit if the trees and the background landscape were darkened.
Darker trees - higher contrast - would give more depth perception to those sections and as for the landscape, currently I believe that it's a tad too bright.
Note: this remark on more contrast and less brightness being applied to the textures used for the the trees and the background landscape is applicable - in my opinion - to all tracks as those textures seem to be originally pre-DX11 and suffer from the typical discolouration of older tracks/textures.
Thanks fot the feedback guys.
I agree with majorite of them and i planed to correct them asap.
I've changed some values in Lod to avoid clipping, new colors balance of vegetation, car reflections and as you are so smart, some new aiw path
Cheers and happy driving.
Excellent update! Looks much more immersive!
