Hey guys! It's a pretty easy questions I guess but I don't know the answer and wasn't able to find it on the net. So is it possible to put in a car without wheels!? As far as I remember the game crashed when something with the tire physics wasn't right or not in place...but maybe that's just a mistake I made!? Second thing is, am I able to use the "old" tire model for a car instead of the new one!? This would make things in term of conversion a lot easier, at least for the starting! THX in advance for all help or pointing in the right direction! Cheers
You can use old tyre model (TBC files) in Dev Mode. You can make the switch via player.json file or ALT+T while beeing already on a track.
OK but for first question my intention is really want to have a car without wheels. Still testing things, so maybe I do find it my self. But if anyone still has an idea, please give me a hint!
Without wheels visual you mean? It has to have tires to move of course, but can't you just wipe out (or "//") the tire/rim and so on in the gen file?
Nope...the game then crashes. I guess the mesh is mandatory. I've now used transparent materials, no shadows, no specular, nothing. So they simple aren't visible. This seams to work Maybe I should really add the reason for what I'll using this!? This: Kinda like the Pocket Bike mod for rF1 I used the helmet instance for the bike. However the wheels should be invisible and they are now.
@Gijs I've set the tag and it worked...or let's say: At least there was no error message @dylbie & @emery Nice ideas too! Maybe some funny addition to the RC mod Wipeout like vehicles would be cool too xD @Skan I could stop it...but...you know!?
I'm not into RC racing, But i just discovered something. As the video tittle says "first pitstop" It starts at 2:22min in the video. I guess the fuel tank last only a few minutes. And the the RC track... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rIEkFSE0eJU . I guess i could some RC models at some point.
Cool! We urgently need more tracks, maybe you could focus on those first!? I don't have the talent and knowhow (though my first track "worked" somehow, but it would be a very long way to go )
