    Could someone please explain to me, what is used/needed. I was looking in some Mod`s and found a funny mixture of Mono and Stereo sounds...

    //Edit: doesn`t matter addon Mod`s or ISI/S397 content...

    Doesn't matter, use what is best for the application.

    Either, use what you have. Mono is fine. The volume in a racecar is such that sound is everywhere. It is not like we can separate channels to specific emitters anyway.

    In the past I worked with stereo, but only because that is what my source was. As a self implied rule I only tinker with the source as little as necessary, it starts to sound synthetic with too much manipulation.

    The only real reason I can think of using stereo over mono is that you can play with panning. Say that distance to an open window near an exhaust is drastically different than to another open window, it wouldn't make sense to use mono in that application.
