i have load all packs here, but the modmanager dont show me it. If put them into rF2\Packages\ Whats wrong? Best wishes from germany
Start the launcher, click on install mods, then in the mod window click on options and uncheck show mods only. You will them see all your downloaded mods and be able to right click on them to install.
ModManager is totally crazy. I am fighting with it one week installing and uninstalling mods and cant make all mods playable. In my first instalation with build 60 and updating to 85 it works fine. Few weeks ago I update the system with more ram and put W7 64 with Build 90 directly and with this start the headache. I try to install mods in any order and cant install all, uninstalling game, installing it in other folders, with no full results. Some times install a mod and when update it dissapears! If you open the ModManager within the launcher or directly from the .exe in core folder it shown different stuffs. Definitely ModManager needs an update. I stop to lose time until it receives a new update. Remember, this is a beta!
Same Problem here... deinstalled a mod and when trying to reinstall it, it doens't show up in the modmanager... dunno why....
There's a trick to installing some mods, you have to do it in ?some? order or it will show up as an error, it's a trial and error way of doing it but does get there in the end.
OK - this is BS beyond belief. I think the problem is with mod manager application. It first occurred when I wanted to install Clio vehicle mod. Here is how I described my problem: Can't install this mod either. Same issue as in the screenshot - in mod manager, I have *** Unable to install the following mods ***. That's because I have the older Clio mod already installed, right? Wrong. What I have done, is in the multiplayer server list view, I have pushed the "downlaod mod" button for older Clio mod, but that way it did not install that mod. I thought it did nothing, but in my packages folder it added about 1mb "clio something.rfmod" file. Now, in the mod manager program, I cannot do nothing about it. I don't have the installed version of clio mod in the listing. I only have it in the *** Unable to install the following mods *** list. There I can only see the properties of it. Cannot re-install it. So what I did was I went to my packages folder and deleted the 1mb false rfmod file. Now back in the mod manager, the clio mod is not in the *** Unable to install the following mods *** list. It is not listed anywhere, even though I have the correct clio mod file in the packages folder. So what next? Re-install rF2? I got response: So I did all that. Did not find any data of Clio from these folders. Then I uninstalled rF2, removed the game folder, did not restart my computer however and then installed fresh rF2, the build 90. Next copied all the mod files to packages folder. Now, when running my fresh new rF2, for some reason the game recognized my and I did not have to register/log-in into my account as the first time I had to. Next I opened the mod manager and this is what I see: 1960s Historic Open Wheel Racing, 1.0, Installed = No All Tracks & Cars, 1.0, Installed = Yes Formula Renault 3.5, 1.0, Installed = No Renault Megane Trophy, 1.0, Installed = No *** Unable to install the following mods *** GT World Endurance Championship, 1.0, Installed = No ISI Formula Masters, 1.0, Installed = No Note that the Clio mod is not present in this listing. The new install somehow remembers the last state of things (my rF2 account data + mod manager stuff). Really not happy with that. What next? Re-install Windows? I will not do that. Please help. EDIT: The Clio vehicle is present in the listing when "Show mods only" is unchecked. But the "Unable to install the following mods" is still not cool. EDIT2: The "Unable to install the following mods" goes away when Megan mod v.1.0 gets installed. EDIT3: Ok, finally got all installed. I will keep all this documented here, maybe somebody finds this useful. So I thought everything is installed. Went into the game, but no Clio. Back at mod manager I see PC_Clio vehicle installed. After uninstalling it it just disappears. No Clio mod in the mod listing as well. Then I closed mod manager, deleted the clio mod file in the packages and to be extra paranoid, downloaded it again via torrent. Then copied it into the packages and voila. It is finally there and then I could install it.
Regarding your first install I find if I get a mod from the multiplayer list the RFMOD only appears in my Packages folder if I have all the required components. The size (1MB) tends to suggest it was a VMOD and got installed meaning you had the necessary components but as you're not sure what it was you downloaded and you've got rid of that install it's a moot point now. Re. the account data and mod manager settings, the account data is stored in a folder called .rFactor in your username\application data folder (or whatever the W7/Vista equivalent is), if you delete it you'll need to reactivate again. The mod manager settings are in the registry. As for your fresh new install (always run mod manager from the launcher not from the 'core' folder) as you found, those mods that were unable to install, were because they required stuff from the mods above to be installed first. Finally onto the Clio stuff, that 'PC_Clio' (it's nothing to do with the ISI Clio mod) is actually the pacecar. Deleting it means you probably won't be able to install any (V)MODs that specify it as a component. Luckily it appears most mods don't specify it, I've got around 20 or so mods on my current B90 install and only 1 of them appears to require it. As for the main ISI Clio mod itself looks like you had a bad download which is why it wouldn't show up in mod manager.
I can see installed mods in mod manager, but never those new I place in packages folder, but when I start single player I can install mods from components manager or series menu as they appear there and there is also install button. I need then to restart rfactor to be able to select series as it decides not to choose when I click accept. But as it does work, I try not to fix anything. Build 90 is in use.
Thanks for clearing things up for me. The bad download seems so highly unlikely, but I cannot think of any other reason that could cause this. Well that's crap - I think I get the 'PC_Clio' back when I reinstall rf2? Or is it perhaps included in any mod, so I can just reinstall it?
