aye . . . if you load it up with a green track you'll see how it looks with no real road . . . then with real road set any visible build up will be . . . real road
That black section (at least in this picture) isn't rubber build-up but track sealant meant to accomplish several goals. Prevent the asphalt from breaking down and potholes forming, and a side-effect is traction is usually increased.
Hey Senorman, I only wanted to point out two things, both of which are pedantic and nitpicky and it really makes no difference if they're changed or not. The first is the track marshals should be wearing white. I don't know if this can be changed or not, but the club always wears white pants and shirts (Source: am part of that club). Adding to this, the flag marshals stand in front of the blue flag post, just over the track wall at turns 1, 4, 5, 5c, 6, 7, 8 and 10. I can send you a drawing/diagram of the positions if you want. The second is the road textures are missing from the karting track left of turn 8. I see the objects and barriers, but it's just a grass hill. Cheers.
When I read about people talking about trees (which sadly happens way too often) I consider that nitpicking. Marshal's clothing is in a whole other level
Well, he IS a track marshall there, so he would want things accurate.(says the anti tree guy lol) I remember seeing a Speed Chanel announcer who also was a track marshall at...Mid Ohio..?? He wore white cover-alls that did little to hide his.... his... bulk.(at the time). I think he was marshalling a lower level race before the ALMS event the TV coverage was about.
Excellent work! I have been able to run the '76 cars far more consistently on the new build. More time on track is revealing lots of the detail involved and the whole experience is proving really immersive. The track runs incredibly well in VR and I can manage higher detail settings than I can usually get away with on other tracks. There are still a few small strange deviations around the seams in the track surface that affect the AI, but none of them seem to be wreckers. Running sensible ride-heights avoids most of those invisible bumps, but at White's I have found at least one stray object above the seam between the two surfaces that launches the March 761. This is despite a set-up where nothing runs below 50mm including the front wing.
Great conversion Senorman! One question. Could you change the track name so it shows up in the track list as Mosport Park, or something easier to recognize. CTMP just doesn't jump out as Mosport. Maybe make it Canadian Tire Mosport Park. Thanks for your hard work.
I see that the March 761 has been updated today with a new collision box. Maybe this will stop it from being so sensitive to minor track imperfections. I'll do some more research...
thx . . . one good thing come out of this is rediscovering the march 761 . . . such a great fun drive
Aaargh! Sorry, I haven't found out what the exact changes to the March were. But I have found out that there are still a couple of spots where the wheels will get ripped off. It always seems to be when crossing the transition from the darker to lighter asphalt patches. Taking a slightly tighter entry into White's and also taking a very tight entry in to the first Moss. I only discovered these when racing side by side with the AI.
okay cheers . . . have reworked those areas but will double check change log . . . March 761 1976 v2.06 - Corrected collision box
updated to v1.02 -reworked track to [hopefully] stop certain cars snagging on the surface -increased lods for some objects popping up with some car mods -replanted some floating trees enjoy . . .
