    Hi everyone,

I am revamping the control tower in my QR track. I want clear glass as I am adding internal detailing.

    Searching was a blank.

I am using the textures from Silverstone in one of the outer buildings.

    bld_glass.dds
    bld_glass_spec.dds
    bld_glass_norm.dds
    track_cube.dds

The shader is the same....Bump Cube Specular Map Add Specular Reflect T1

Set as Src Alpha / Inv Src Alpha

Channels are all at channel 1...that may be where the issue lies..not sure, as i can not find info on shader channels.
I am using 3ds Max 2012. At the moment they are solid. No clear at all.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Mike

Does the main difuse have an alpha layer?

Would you believe yes? For some reason the one I used from Silverstone has no alpha.

Same file in another track had the alpha but now it totally clear. I am after the tinted look I see in other tracks.

Thanks for the tip but now I need to understand how to darken the glass and give it the tinted look rather than perfectly clear. Any other help would be awesome :)

Experiment with the alphas shade of gray to get your desired look

    Use vertex alpha.

Woo Hoo! Thank you guys! I actually selected the poly and set the alpha to 80% and diffuse colour to a mid grey and it looks great :)

Next I will build a simple interior to give it a bit more detail. Thanks again!
