we have seen a rash of user support questions lately, almost all in reference to an out of date skin or mod. I would like ask anyone who submits a skin, or uploads a track, or uploads car/track files for leagues to please include a statement such as the following. THIS CARSKIN ONLY WORKS WITH VERSION 1.70 & 1.71 OF THE ORECA.(Precisely name the car, or MOD with an EXACT version number.) IF S397 OR OUR LEAGUE ISSUES AN UPDATE TO THE ORIGINAL CAR, THIS MOD WILL NO LONGER FUNCTION. PLEASE CHECK BACK HERE (Include website) FOR POSSIBLE UPDATES OR DELETE THE SKIN/MOD/WHATEVER UNTIL WE ISSUE AN UPDATED SKIN.
Also I think the workshop really should have a Category section, a lot other games support workshop Category, why can't RF2 have one? Right now it is simply a giant mess to navigate through hundreds of mods, unless you know what mod name to look for, or checking random collections which may not update to date anyway. There are a lot new comers in our league subscribe those SKINs and thinking they are downloading the actual car, they have no idea those are simply "SKIN", and complain about why the game pops error while installing those skin mods. If RF2 has a better Categorized workshop page, this could be avoid as well.
Another problem is Steam's rather restrictive and basically stuffed search function. For example, search for Datsun and you get a result of @dazzer's two awesome Datsun 510s. Search for Datsum .......................nothing Search for Dat or Dats and you only get Predators Formula Promotion. Dat is part of Predators, but I don't see how Dats can get that match. Search for Datsu and you get nothing. You can't say that is a good search function. (rhetorical)
