This has been mentioned in various places on the forum, but I'd like to report it as a [BUG]. I believe that the 'intended' repository for user-made vehicle skins is in <drive_letter>:\rFactor2\UserData\player\Settings\<vehicle_name>\ and should be difined by ALT in the title. e.g. for the Megane on my PC: E:\rFactor2\UserData\player\Settings\Meganes2009\M2009_04ALT.dds should add an alternative skin to the Megane #4 in the default showroom. Indeed it does this, but as well as reskinning the car correctly, the entire skin is repeated across the Windshield: View attachment 1797 The above affects in game (practice/race etc) vehicles too, so in cockpit view this can be seen and also from outside. If however, the dds file is named after one of the cars in the deafult showroom, and put in the installed vehicles folder so in my case: E:\rFactor2\Installed\Vehicles\Meganes2009\1.0\M2009_02ALT.dds then the skin seemingly replaces the skin it is named after and displays the windsheild correctly: View attachment 1800 I hope the devs can correct this or shed some light on the way skins are intended to be used if the method is not how I interpret it to be in the first example. Thanks p.s. If Devs/Mods have an issue with this being posted outside of topics that 'mention' this bug, please merge threads and sorry for the extra work caused, I just wanted the explanation to be clear as it has taken almost all day to get to the point where the problem was discovered.
I also notice that when you go back to the normal cars, the texture from the skinned car stays on the windscreen until you reload. Just did what you said above and correct it does work!!!! so it must be ISI end.
