Hello, Since the last update, I can't play anymore, I just have a black screen! When rF2 starts, everything goes as usual, but when the little animation about an update appears, and the process stops and just remains the black screen or only the mouse sign is present. I play in VR with a Pimax 8k+. Thanks for any help!
Happend to me as well, I kept alt tabbing and it kicked back in. I also click the screen a couple times.
-Disconnect all devices before loading rf2, just keeping mouse and keyboard. -Use repair instalation option on steam -Delete controllers.json or controller.ini and let steam generate a new file -Delete UserData folder and let steam rebuild it from scratch
If you rename the userdata folder to something like OLD_UserData, that renders it useless to rf2. Thus rF2 will AUTOMATICALLY build a new fresh copy of the UserData folder. You can also VERIFY file integrity in steam. At the library screen, right click on rFactor 2, then click on properties and then local files. From there you can verify the game to ensure no files are corrupted or missing. Whenever you are making changes to rF2, it is a good practice to double check your video settings. When you click PLAY in Steam, choose the 2nd option to launch the graphic options tool. This way you can confirm your video card and screen resolution are correct. Click OK THEN Play again to launch rF2. One further note. rF2 will not see your controllers if you plug them back in after launching rF2. You have to shut down rF2 plug your controllers in, (it might help to make sure windows sees them in a control panel), and THEN launch rF2.
Thank you. Can you please explain where I can select Studio 397? Is this on the workshop page? I’ve just bought the game. Dev mode is launching fine but getting black screen when trying to open game. Have completed various bits of advice will no luck.
You don't have to select Studio 397, any item will work. This bug will be fixed in the next hotfix, which may be in the next couple of days.
I shared the image, but in fact it's confusing, I didn't stop to analyze what he did. What I believe he did, is to subscribe to all or at least one of the s397 items on workshop. Supposedly it should be all selected out of the box, but it worth a check.
