[REL] Better UI

good spotted @DJCruicky , @Cselt if you can identify the code and add it to event info, it would be awesome.

 

I can do that, but I'm afraid only for Single Player.

 

Does this work since the latest release-candidate that they released?

Can you please tell me more about the issue?
I can see an issue with the opponent selector, will create a patch for it. But is there any other issue?

Have you ever connected to a server with a wrong car and after you realized you had to re-connect?
Do you remember the good old "car select" feature from the old ui?
Now with this release it's fixed, you can change car without leaving the server and thus saving track time for you. Just go to event info and click on "car select"

not on you, Cselt, but maybe you can help. I would like to see (not change) what the AI Strength is set at while on the track. Currently it is blanked out in the new menu (with & without the Better_UI).
Issue was that could not go above 98% AI Strength on any car mod. I changed a 98% setting in the All Tracks & Cars.cch file to SinglePlayerAIStrength=100, to fix that. (Probably need to set that to 120, huh ?)
Still, would be nice if it's not much work, otherwise, no biggie.

 

Would it be possible to add a icon if the content/overview (tracks,cars) are official S397. So you can see pretty easy the difference between official tracks and mods etc. Not sure if that data is available in the UI.

 

Here are some suggestions.
1. First is re-work the first few screens - remove all hyperlinks and replace with standard controls and behaviors.
2. Fix the "Customize" button in the main screen which all it does now is load the race page... This should take you the "session Settings". Also rename to "Session settings"
3. Remove the "select buttons" - select from car/track selection
4. Fix Session control (currently is near impossible to make out what session you are on while in the pop up) Perhaps move it a tab in the main garage screen.

 

@boxer just to check: are you making suggestions for Cselt to do in this "Better UI", or are you suggesting changes to the 'new UI' for S397 to do?

 

I know I used the S397 UI screen shoots but my suggestion is for the Better UI.

just do a steam local file integrity check.
Right click on rF2 in steam, select property.

then "Steam/Local Files/Verify integrity of game files"

is it possible to add a permanent ''Drive'' button to all screens (like the ''Exit'' button on the top right corner)? That would save so much time sometimes.
