So glad an expert is tackling longbeach...... that is a lot of textures.
Guys wrote me about Vancouver a couple of months ago. And yes, this is the Long Beach fountain Most likely I will not ask permission for the conversion and will never release it publicly (because I am waiting for Long Beach from S397... but what if) But any Indycar and IMSA fan will be able to try it if I finish the track. I'm sure everyone knows how to contact me on another famous great forum
The track is very hard. The number of textures and shaders is huge. So far, I can’t even imagine how long it will take to convert.
Now the main task is just to get it in the game in its entirety. DevMode keeps crashing into errors when trying to load a track

uh... why not ask for permission if you don't mind explaining? Author(s) remain active here in the Forum. Seems rather odd not to, unless there is bad blood for any reason?
So much more could be done if people cooperated and tried to reach out more often. Heck, after months of trying to reach out to @fab06, @PatientRF2fan got his OK to upgrade Cleveland and we will benefit from an improved track...

And lately I've been converting tracks just for myself. I'm too lazy to deal with unnecessary bureaucracy. I've always been amazed at the need to ask permission for anything posted online. Moreover, I have never stolen other people's work. If the author is known, I always gave him all the credit. And only after that I wrote what changed by me.
Yes, I am pretty sure that we will get at some point in time a S397 DLC with tracks from the IndyCar calendar, but its a fact that there are still guys from iDT which remain active here, namely iDTDoug and Chris Lesperance (who is a regular here)...

I have permission from doug for toronto and long beach. The goal was to just reloft track and walls add bumps and paint. I started toronto but shifted into the car modding. Tyrone also gave permission to convert his ac toronto too.
I also anticipate that s397 might make one anyway with a future indy game in the works.
i plan to just continue working on vancouver since it is less likely to be duplicated. Plus i have to learn pbr next and than feels like starting all over again when reading all the differences on the site.
I've already done AC Toronto conversion. This can already be driving, but there it is necessary to completely redo the terrain.

Are your referring to re-lofting the AC double road mesh? or the surrounding city terrain?
City terrain. Now it's just a placeholder texture from google maps

I don't see what the problem is: They just have to include a CD check whenever the track is unzipped. Just put that ol CD in and then the track will unlock. Yessir! just..... uhmmm....withthat....cd?
The problem is easy: no permissions from Forza Management etc. So start the tracks from scratch xD
