    Hi everyone,

I grabbed this from JB Hi-Fi and it is 9 hours long, the full TV broadcast. Really good vision of all the track, pits etc.

Well worth buying. On eBay etc. $30.00 AUD

A little update. Using a 1984 aerial shot as a spec map and getting it lined up is fiddly but getting there.

Track is done and feels great. Now going around and adjusting the walls, armco and try and work out how to get the fences done.

My bride is doing it hard at the moment...so updates may be slower again.

I wonder, since this is being created, if anyone plans to make the actual field of the '85 1000. Might as well have something accurate to race on this track after all.

Small update (done a lot actually) but this is cool. Got the scoreboard working. Only the top 9 cars but that is OK.

I hope all is well mate.

Awesome mate. Love your tracks and that long back straight will be so cool :)

Just curious about rF2 grass, is there a way to add more variation to the grass texture? Seeing as its just flat, adding more variation would help make a more natural look.

Grass is just a place holder until I have finished with the terrain and edges of the track.

It will look better once I add the proper textures. This is an early test.

Working on the pit sponsors, all 47,359 of them...that's how it felt :p:D

    All scratch made.

The top is on the metal roof, the lower are a board wall. There is some variation between the two. The 7 Sport and Motorcraft are on a separate image file.

So about a week I will post the pit garage.

Next step is doing the framework of the pits. I may use the Queensland Raceway garage frame as a base. They are almost identical.

The Mount "Patchwork Quilt" Panorama 3D Max file....

The method to this madness is once all the terrain is how I want it and the grass and background is mapped correctly....then section by section I will complete and work my way around.

I am thinking of releasing with a bare track, but mapped etc etc and AIW done of course....then update at a section at a time.

I know some may not like that, but this way we can race on it and get the surprise updates as they roll out. I can also spend time on each section to get tree placement and so on as close to 1985 as I can.

Depending on my wife's health and the next few months, they may or may not work out, so I want to at least get it released as an early Beta.

Cancer is horrible and for those that have gone through what I am going through have my greatest respect. It is hard at times. My faith in God certainly is my greatest comfort, and the well wishes from family, friends and the sim community is also awesome. So thank you.

    The Quilt.....
