It was used and added onto right into the 1980s before they demolished and starrted the buidlings we have today. Not a 3D model but I can use that refernce photo Well spotted!!!
Starting the build and progressing. This needs to be well done as it is one of the biggest landmarks of the circuit. Basic shape of the bridge is done and the buidling will be next. The scoring building is fiddly and a mess as it was added onto many time like a patch work quilt. Using the old V8 Supercars 3 model as a template. it will not be used as it is horrid..... More updates in a few days......
One step at a time. Almost done the timing building. Still have to add stairs etc but near done. Next is the James Hardie Centre, again from photos. so not perfect but will be OK
Bit of an update....what a mission this is turning out to be Hope to have the James Hardie Centre done this week. First will be the AO channel then the images maps. Thank you all for the extra images....
Mike, if you ever need help with PBR. Would be an honour to get this to studio level Keep going, amazing project. Doing Fuji from scratch, I know what it takes.
Getting more details for the model. It is about 90% done....the next 10% will take a few days. I found some new footage of the building and got more information.
Working through the AO maps.....the objects are not finished yet but are very close. Hope to get this lot imported into the track in the next few days. Very hot here today, 35+ degrees and pushing 40 inside my unit upstairs.
Getting the Ambient Occlusion maps working.....This gives the natural look as to how light reacts on surfaces. Building Textures go over the top of these.... Should be done in a day or two then start the proper textures.
I think it is basically done...the AO textures are done and mapped. Now to add the top textures and hopefully will bring it to life a little..... The main James Hardie Centre will be a while yet...lots to do on it....
Who's idea was this? What a pain.....getting there and taking way longer than planned. Each Dunlop logo has to be individually made...they are all different. Some parts of the building are corrugated metal...other parts look like it is rendered cement....the signs overlap walls....etc etc....
