She has a memorial on the track and a pink cherry blossom orchard.

* This is a 1985 version of the famous Bathurst Mount Panorama track

* This is an Beta version, and there is still a LOT of work to do. I have released it in this stage as if I do not, I will keep working on it for another 6 months without releasing it. Please understand that.

FUTURE UPDATES

* The AIW file needs a LOT of work. Hoping to get it done by someone who know more than I

* Updates will be weekly where possible

* Many items are place holders as are textures.

Hey everyone,

I thought I would dig up an old project I have been putting off simply due to the size of it.

Bathurst 1985 was the first year of Group A and the last year with Conrod without the stupid Chase.

This will be a long term project. Updates as I get them done. I will be home for the foreseeable future looking after my wife so will make this time productive.

Currently working with mesh and getting into RF2. The only thing 1985 has in common with the modern track is the road and terrain. All walls, fences and buildings are different apart from the off house or two.

Mike

Damn Mike, now you do Lidar scans through time? So stoked on this one, great news.

Edit: Hope this means your wife is doing better and recovering.

I'm sure it will be as awesome as your other tracks. Hopefully almost as awesome as your wife's health.

Yay!! Thanks to Coutie and Jka for the tip on getting the fences and walls to surface.

Staring to populate the walls, armco and barbed wire fences around the track.

Should see some progress quickly. Once I have the walls done I can do the AIW file (hard now as I fall off into the abyss. :p:D )

.....and this is the disheartening part. Hours of work and what seems little progress...

The walls are almost done and the armco as well. I have been here before....looking at these screen shots and thinking..."what has been done??" A fair bit...but can not really be seen thus far.

More updates in a few days.

A new video, WIP 02...
Coming along well......a long way to go.....

Awesome work!
I wanted to comment to on your original post - I like your comment about the "stupid chase" - it gave me a laugh. Everyone's got favorite years and layouts of tracks. Personally I don't mind the chase section, but I can definitely see the appeal of an older version without that portion.
It should be good from some faster top speeds from the looks of it - I guess we'll find out when and if you release it.
Great work anyway and all the best to your wife.

Mike that’s looking great excellent work. I am keen to see how you model the dick Johnson rock given it’s an old version of the track it will need to roll onto the track when a blue xd falcon approaches :-) joking of course hope all goes well with track and your wife
