used to be shoe when I started racing rF1 but changed to socks soon after, get smelly feet otherwise!
I have driven real car with bare foot too, it is tad painful to do quick stop though... For RoR however I think shoes would be much more appropriate choice.
lol @ buddhatree Typical Dutch I usually go barefoot, otherwise I slide off my pedals too much when I try to brake hard (Clubsport V2). Shoes are too inaccurate (and hot )
I raced in only socks for a long, long time because I wanted to really feel the pedal. Then I found Puma Drift Cats, which have a very thin sole. My right foot is so bad now I have to wear an insert even when I'm just sim racing so shoes are necessary now.
I originally obtained some stylish moccasins for the job. Unfortunately, doing heel & toe with the Nixim rubber thing inside the G25 brake pedal bore a hole in the sole in no time. So I upgraded to a pair of carpet slippers, which have been perfect. Just enough rubber underneath to protect your foot but flexible enough to feel what you're doing. Only trouble is having size 12 (UK) feet means aesthetic compromises - whereas I wanted something scandalous, I had to make do with the more sober slipper.
