Hello there, i´ve been looking for a similar post, but couldn´t find something. The problem I´ve been running into is, that if I start up the game entering an offline session everything is runnning fine. When I´m done and changing track/car combo ingame my performance is dropping to the point where it´s unplayable. I get about 144fps (locked) usally, but when changing session it goes down to 10-20 fps. I´m playing on triples (no surround) 3x1960x1080. I already tried to verify steam files, clearing cbash and shader cache, but it didn´t work out. I can not specify since which built I get this issue, as I haven´t changed session ingame for a long time. My system specs are: Intel I5 3570k 4x3.4ghz overclocked to 4.4 (I know its old but it runs rf2 perfectly fine anytime else) 16gb ddr3 ram Asus P8Z77V-deluxe gtx 2080 triple benq 144hz 1960x1080 any help is appreciated p.s I´m on the new ui
I´ve done further testing (read below) and it created 2 trace files. As these seem to be too big to attach, I´ve uploaded them here: Log.rar You might be right, but as I´ve done further testing now and also use the computer for other stuff I´m gonna stick with the overclock for now. Before my recent post the problem occured after I changed from Indianapolis with the Dpi to Nordschleife 24h (rain) in the Aston Gt3. The problem could be solved when I restarted the game. Today I did a couple of laps on Portland in the Dpi, then I switched ingame to VIR full in the Ligier - with no issues. After that I tried again switching to Nordschleife 24h in the Aston Gt3 and the issue (fps dropped to 10-20 including input lags) came back. I think it comes down to that combination, which can be solved by now with just restarting the game. So far Thank you guys for your effort
@Yoko not sure if I can get to my PC soon to check those over, but I think 118MB trace files are a fair indicator something has gone wrong... @Yoko your wheel is picked up twice and the game swaps between the two entries over and over. I've seen this before, found it was @Yzangard on one occasion, don't know if he fixed it or even if it's a root cause.
You're wheel base is appearing twice for some reason? fwiw, in Windows, my fanatec base is shown twice in all control panel screens or fanalabs. Only once in game tho, but my trace also shows two instances of the wheel base: 135.29s hwinput.cpp 8352: Enumerated Device 0 - Name:FANATEC ClubSport Wheel Base V2.5 DeviceID 0eb70004 InstanceID:C9FADD40-E33E-11EA-8002-444553540000 135.29s hwinput.cpp 1629: Controller was enumerated ... 135.29s hwinput.cpp 1765: ... and successfully initialized 135.29s hwinput.cpp 8352: Enumerated Device 1 - Name:FANATEC ClubSport Wheel Base V2.5 DeviceID 0eb70004 InstanceID:C9FADD40-E33E-11EA-8003-444553540000 135.29s hwinput.cpp 8352: Enumerated Device 2 - Namenull) DeviceID (null) InstanceIDnull) 135.29s hwinput.cpp 8352: Enumerated Device 3 - Namenull) DeviceID (null) InstanceIDnull) 135.29s hwinput.cpp 8352: Enumerated Device 4 - Namenull) DeviceID (null) InstanceIDnull) 135.29s hwinput.cpp 8352: Enumerated Device 5 - Namenull) DeviceID (null) InstanceIDnull) 135.29s hwinput.cpp 8352: Enumerated Device 6 - Namenull) DeviceID (null) InstanceIDnull) 135.29s hwinput.cpp 8352: Enumerated Device 7 - Namenull) DeviceID (null) InstanceIDnull) 135.31s hwinput.cpp 8414: Failed to read steering wheel from driver, using default maximum angle of 900 degrees. 135.31s options.cpp 4945: Entered Options::Setup()
same here as Dave with my fanatec base. just thought it was normal a CS base. for example, CrewChief shows 2 bases when i start wheel. Never thought to look in controller file for error though.
Yes there is indeed something strange about my setup which explains at least this line i think 21.78s hwinput.cpp 4746: Found controller swap candidate based on DeviceID. 21.78s hwinput.cpp 4392: Swapping devices - "2" and "1", names "FANATEC ClubSport Wheel Base V2.5=#0eb70004#D6B12B10-3236-11EB-8007-444553540000" and "FANATEC ClubSport Wheel Base V2=#0eb70001#97C77640-8BAF-11E9-8001-444553540000"[/code] I´ve been using a csw 2 until recently when it broke down. I send it over to fanatec and the motor etc. got replaced by a csw 2.5 . As the ffb felt as good as before and because I´m a lazy turd I didnt load the 2.5 preconfig and set it up ingame.
@Yoko just make a copy of the file, change the extension to .txt, and then attach it here. If starting a fresh new profile fixes the issue, S397 would probably appreciate having the broken one to help work out what happened.
I have exactly the same problem for the abnormal drop in fps, only on SPA and NURB. I solved the problem by putting Post Effect on Low, I was in medium. My config 10700k 32go 2080, triple screen 5760x1080. For me it is not a "hardware" problem I start on the nurb with 25IA, I have about 75 fps, then it goes up to 80-90 and after 10min the game drops to 20-30 fps. If I put the post effect on low the problem disappears.
