Personally I believe that the introduction of Traction Control did not imply that there was no need for throttle modulation: onboards seem to indicate different levels of throttle input used depending on circumstances and I don't get the feeling that there is an electronic "fire and forget" traction cut. You also see plenty of spins out of corners, when drivers were too eager to get back into throttle. I do notice a relatively low level of "lift and coast" (as opposed to what you witness today in Indycars, as an example) so no doubt that there was an added ability to be more aggressive. Again: I "work" based on feel and logic associated with what I witnessed back then and what we can still watch on YT videos. Also, a minor adjustment on the mod's parameters could make a huge difference on the end result.
