Thanks guys for what you are doing! I tested this yesterday and it’s very well done, unfortunately it isn’t compatible with Historic edition. I tested a couple of tracks, and even if I have the HE 1.865 installed the performance are random. Is there a way to fix this issue?
The 1.865 HE file (historic edition update) doesn't work with the new (v1.87) mod (at least in my case the modmanager doesn't even read it as a file). Do not know much about modding but i guess someone has to repackage the HE file based on the 1.87 one (the one with the car images)? PS Give me some time and i will edit the images
Had some free time so i spent it by cropping / editing the car images (making them look bigger). Million thanks also to @Corti for the repackage + the HE (update) file. Here are the links for both files: https://www.mediafire.com/file/8wy52bb4vo41xps/ASR_Formula_OWC_92_188.rfcmp/file https://www.mediafire.com/file/6fhf7sp2lc4pos0/F1_1992_1.89_Historic.rfcmp/file
Great mod, lots of fun! I know that RF2 has things that needs fixing but MAN, this mod needs more SPARKS! Thanks for posting/updating
Does it work for you ? I mean, does it fix the BOP (balance of performance) thing? Cause for me when i race i still get random grid car positions
It does work if you manually "drive" all the vehicles. I mean, take every car for a ride in a track, and you will see differentiations, in both final speed and car behavior. But when i start a 5 lap race (no practice, no quali) most of times i see Senna in 10th or 12th position in almost all of my tracks, which is strange. I thought the HE update was about to "fix" that (the race grid positions i mean), but no. I might be missing smth, dunno.. Anyway, this is a brilliant mod nevertheless
It is a known 'feature' that when you do not run qualifying, you get weird grid positions. So in your example with no practice and no qualifying, you will most likely get the high talent AIs buried in the midfield.
I tested it and i did run practice and quali this time. But.. During practice and quali, but without even going on track, i went to "session controls" and hit next session / finish session (i did not leave the time clock to finish). Weird no1: I started 1st on the race and not last (which i ve been told in an other thread that it is a known rf2 'bug', since the beggining of the new ui) and Weird no2: I still get random grid positions (below me) So i was wondering. Maybe this only works if i let the qualifying time finishes (or accelerate it)?
I believe you are supposed to run the whole qualifying session, not jump to next session. You should be able to accelerate the time. Don't know about the starting on 1st.
Yes, i can confirm that. You must allow the ai to set some quali times. Or accelerate the time (ctrl+x) and let the clock finish. Then you can proceed to the race with the grid that has been formed. If you don't, you will get random grid places. Also if you skip (next session / finish session) the quali session you will start the race always 1st, which is a known bug.
Hi all, just wondered if any one else has the same issue as me as to a fair few cars are extremely slow? to the point some being a minute slower per lap becoming virtual roadblocks and some being around 30 seconds slower. I have to delete a fair few leaving around 16 cars on track? This is running with practice on and qualifying on and letting them get up to speed?
Same issues here - almost 1 minute slower per lap - tried at 1988 and 1986 circuits - Silverstone and Monza .... few cars almost crawling - the not so popular drivers of the pack
Found out that everything is workin - must be some kind of problem in combination with those tracks from the 1980 Mod project ...
Hi guys, as Hazi made me aware of this bug, i'm looking on it. Very strange thing but yes, some drivers are slowing down like hell. The god news is that i did'nt knew that asr formula was not working on this 1992 mod and others where doing this in HE. Very pleased to hear that. So, i'm busy with our project on 1986/88 season as you probably know. That said, i'll try to fix this issue asap if i can. If you want, and if time permits for me, i can also work on pbr effects for all cars for 1992. The shaders are not right for now and i know well how to do it now as you can see my work on 1986 season. Stay tuned and thanks for the links, i like those historic f1 hehe
