I'm just curious as your thoughts on this game so far. I know we will all have high standards on physics and FFB due to excessive exposure to RF2. So how is it looking?

I bought it, just for the hell of it.
It looks gorgeous, the sounds are fantastic and it's very entertaining.

Interesting move by CM, this. They're very involved in the community all of a sudden, which is nice.
If they fix the force feedback and keep working on the physics (like they say they will) I'm happy. :)

I can't stop driving it. Currently spending all my time in Whales. So dangerous. Simply can't get enough if it. No BS. Ffb is drivable with tweaks. Already got my money's worth and not even able to beat the easiest difficulty level yet on any stage. Awesome. Accuracy of physics? Can't say. What I can say is that the stages are so technical you will have your hands full. Money well spent.

    an interesting one to follow,
will not be buying into "early access " of any kind anymore, hope CM do a good job on it with updates etc

may pick it up after official release depending on reviews etc

( although seriously tempted due to VR support lol )

For some entertainment and to support the studio maybe, but i agree the WIP stuff sometimes is anything but not entertainment. :)

I don't understand why many Game companies do not put a Demo out there for people to try it before they buy!

Sector3 Studios are top in this where in Race Room Experience where one can try EVERY single car before buying it!

The King of rally sims/games is RBR hands down.
If it comes anywhere close then it should be ok.

I haven't tried that ffb tweak yet. Is it good?

I use a CSR-E I've changed drift to 2-3 all other settings to off. Ingame the ffb settings to 90% vibration to 100%. Not perfect but driveable and a good base setting for further tweaking.

I've combined it with the CM recommended Logitech profiler settings (add spring et al). 100% drivable. Great? No. Drivable? Yes. Awesome? YES!

Thanks for the heads up, looks badass!!! I've always kind of liked Codemasters. Does anybody know if you can have separate wheel and pedals? I know a lot of these types of games get all screwy if your pedals and wheel aren't one controller.

I'm looking forward to getting it AFTER they fix the FFB and controller issues. Any title that you have to use (or would ever want to use) DRIFT on a Fanatec wheel is not for me. If it gets to the point that it is as realistic as RBR or better, with the obviously stunning graphics and apparently great sounds, it will worth supporting, despite coming from one of the worst developers out there. Hopefully they are changing their ways and if so, happy to encourage them to continue.

As an rFactor guy who isn't terribly interested in rally, I can only comment on the graphics since I'm not about to buy the game. Snow stage suffers in ways that are hard to describe, but looks pretty good where it's melted off the road and lays heaped to the side. Rain stage is okay, maybe a little too glossy bright rather than dark glossy... don't recall seeing any water splashes from deep puddles? My reaction to the US West stage is "holy crap, that's good!" and sets a standard in my mind.

Can I map a proper clutch and H pattern shifter, and possibly a handbrake on a pot, not just on/off button ?
I am really interested but don't want my fingers burned by Codies ever again. It's the Metro 6r4 and mk 2 Escort...... WANT

You can map both a h pattern shifter and the clutch. Not sure if the clutch is working properly yet though. Handbrake can be mapped but I think it's just on off for now. Don't quote me on that though. :)
